Thumbs up

Folks,
Has anyone heard a popping noise similar to metal flexing when they sit down in the drivers side? It happens when I put my feet on the top portion of the floor mat o/a under the pedals? The noise seems to come about where the floor starts up from the flat area. It doesn't happen all the time and I haven't notice anything driving. Just wondering. Cheers
Mike

I have. I always attributed it to the trunk, though...

I notice this when I get out of the car sometimes. I'm not heavy, so I don't think it is a weight problem. It almost sounds like there isglue on the back of the carpet, and pushing you foot puts the glue back on the floor and when your foot comes up the glue unsticks or something like that.

I'll check that out, hadn't thought about the carpet coming up. I just got the new mats from Kevin yesterday and installed them last night, wife drove the car today. She said it was loud and hot roddy...yeah, what's the problem with that? .

I checked it out as to the carpet coming up and I'm not sure thats what it is. The popping noise comes from the area to right of the foot rest brake in the drivers side in my convertible. You can push down and you get the flex sound and guess the carpet comes back up. Its sounds like a metal flex but it come be carpet with some type of backing just popping back into postion it was in. Don't thinks it a danger just annoying when you get in/out of the car if you put your foor on that area. Cheers

floor popping

I've got the same problem. It makes the car seem, mighty cheap.
I'm taking the car to the dealer this week.

My car has it as well. It sounds like metal is flexing on the floorboard under my feet. I am not a heavy person.

I remember reading a similar topic shortly after the 05 Mustangs came out. It appears the floor under this area is not rigid enough.
