Are you doing all the work yourself? I normally do, but heard something about needing to press something off/on with the front coil over setup.

 

This might be a stupid question... but these trains run all night, right? I can't imagine the whole system shutting down because it's dark.

 

Just a note on the MRT vs Redline struts. I had a 79'K5 Blazer that kinked the hood because the springs got stiff. Then I noticed almost all that vintage had kinked hoods. Whitney's sold hood reinforcements etc. Point is the MRT's have all the forces and pivot points near the windshield and if the struts ever get sticky and you get in a hurry to get the bonnet down........... Nope, hoping the factory camber bolt will bring the front end back into specs when I'm done. I use a non-traditional front end alignment shop, by that I mean no computer specs and no lasers. I know that sounds crazy, but my guy specializes in custom 4 corner balancing and alignment (does mostly race/track cars). I even have to sit in the car while the alignment is being performed because the driver's weight must be compensated for during the alignment process.

Shop owner told me to bring the Eibach camber bolts just incase he can't align it with the factory bolts.

 

I don't have any stock in this Redline company, but... they really work well! I don't think they would/could ever get stuck to the point where they would kink the hood. I keep my 89's hood open all the time (I like to look at the engine)... once for 2 months straight during the engine swap, wiring, etc. When I finally closed it, it closed like I had opened it that morning.

Plus, I really don't like the look of those MRT brackets...

Yes, going to do all the work ourselves.

Here's a link on a Eibach Pro install, but applies to any spring kit.
