From my job experiance at a local Dallas/Ft.Worth area Ford Dealership.

All our vehicles came to a local yard about 30 miles away by train. They were then loaded onto transport truck by a local transport agency hired by Ford or the Dealership(which Im not certain)

This might explain the lack of transport trucks.

 

I called my dealer today to see if he knew anything about the shipment. He said he heard they were starting the shipment, but thinks it may take more time. He made a comment that the 500 was supposed to start shipping and got stopped at the last minute and that some that were released were being sent back. He did verify that my car was built the first week and that Xplan is no problem . He is faxing me the build price later today. He is uner the impression the cars would not hit the dealers until the middle of Oct. I told him I was hoping for next week. Thanks for all the info. He is amazed at what I know when I call him.

Well I didn't get a Dora, but I got my Eleanor fund replenished partly.

Yesterday I was mooning over something( A mustang on the road), and noticed another alero when we were going to lunch, I made my standard I bet they spent a load fixing that car comment to him. In an effort, he said
Hey, an alero kinda looks like a mustang.... My car is fugly with its huge bug eyes a Mustang couldn't be ugly if it tried.

My time will be coming soon, If I get some sleep, and If I get it off my mind......And if I can quit being sick thinking about how much I want one..


Hubby said I should contact guiness for holding the worlds record for the longest conversation ever. Honey............ He says "Is this about that mustang again? YES, Did you know..........

Next week is going to be FUN, Im going to troll every ford dealer in Birmingham trying to scam a test drive.

 

Thanks John for all your info...Is there any way for you to determine if any GT's are being released? Or is it just V-6's?

i don't get why ford would ship them out and let the dealers release them before the 27th

 

My car was produced last week, still shows TBD as the delivery date.

 

My dealer still doesn't have a VIN or build date for my car...this is depressing.

 

my gt is to be made this week i have an email in to my dealer to see which day it was made

Do you have confirmation that the '05s are shipping?

 

We got notification that they gave the ok to ship to the Escape Hybrid yesterday (thursday 09/23) at 1pm. There is, to my knowledge, still no ok to ship on the mustang

 

I inqured w/ my dealer today and he informed me that my car is scheduled to ship to a quality check facility (Sisaro?) and that he did'nt think any would be released to dealers for another week or so....Any comments?

Yes, a GT..He told me he thought that is where all of the stangs leaving the plant are going. He said the code that is now on my order is the same as he saw on the first 500 orders and that is where they all went before being released to dealers.

 

This i sick, I know. I drove my my closest Ford dealership today, KNOWING FULL WELL the 2005 Mustangs would not be there. :bang:

Yet I could not stop myself. I had to go see. Yeah, like they're going to show up at a podunk dealer in coastal Virginia before anywhere else.

I've gotta get a grip. Maybe if I adjust my medication. . .
