poll: this is to show my dealer is wrong.

I'm not sure about the dealer getting anything back but I remember reading that. I'll leave that one to more experienced people
I just wanted to say that I have the Xplan locked in on my order (dealer will not honor it for a car on the lot of course)
Dealer is: Courtesy Ford/Seminole Ford in Sanford, FL

I bought mine on A plan. I had ordered it 6 months in advance. I still can find places to buy one A plan in Michigan right of the lot. It's all up to the dealership.
Find a small dealership that is not selling a lot of cars.

I bought mine at Xplan Ken Grody in Carlsbad CA, and I know Drew Ford in La Mesa and Rancho Santa Magarita in Orange County are honoring the plans as well. I am not sure if they are compensated by Ford, but I am sure they would be because it is an incentive program that is offered by Ford that the dealerships agree to and I do not see why they would just sell a car and not make any money, if that were the case I would imagine you would probably buy it directly from Ford then.

I ordered mine via X-Plan from Advantage Ford in Stuart, FL. No games on either side. Car came in with my name printed on the window sticker I could not be more pleased with the car or with the dealership

B) x-plan tampa florida,
the dealer is compensated for x-plan and a-plan purchases.
i have many years experience in the auto sales bussiness.new used and wholesale,
good rule of thumb is the dealer is saying he or she is losing money, they are full of it. the dealer will never ever lose money. the factory all ways gives money to the dealers just for selling the cars and trucks,[example]dealer sells 400 hundred cars a month at invioce. factory sends a volume bonus check to them, any were from 200.00 to 500.00 per car. you do the math. every dealer will make a fortune, just by serlling at invioce .never mind selling at msrp,,or over msrp
now what do you think about car dealers?

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago in Charleston,SC on the X-plan with a refundable deposit after a, get this, a test drive in a GT. The dealers in Columbia wouldn't let me test drive and would honor the X-plan only if I ordered it ....with a non-refundable deposit. I'd have to be an idiot to order a car with a non-refundable deposit without a test drive. The guy in Charleston(Jones Ford) was very cool when I told him I didn't want to waste much of his time because I was getting it on the X-plan. He said,"that's OK, we get a kick-back from Ford'. He was making calls trying to sell my 03 Cobra 10 minutes after he took my order info.
Like everybody else said, keep looking. You'll find a dealership with a salesman that's worth a darn. Happy hunting!

The Mustang GT I delivered yesterday would have a $427 commision to the dealer. This leaves the dealer around $450-475 over invoice. To some dealers this is fine, obviously to the dealer getting MSRP, or more, this is of no interest.
