Question POLL: How long did it take you to get serialized?

Here I am rapidly approaching my 5th week of waiting to get serialized, I am getting so antsy that I had to make a poll to confirm that I will have to wait longer to get my order pulled than anyone else in the history of the automotive world. This will give me the authority to become the supreme whiner!!

Anyways, how long did it take your S197 order to get serialized?

I placed my order over the phone Friday, July 28, and got the number August 3. My salesman guesses the car will arrive the first week of September.

I called my dealer today to see if he could cry to Ford to get me a lower than 10 order priority and he said no. He did know that my order had not been serialized. I mentioned that there were folks I knew that had already gotten their ETA that had put their order in after mine and he didn't have anything to say. Basically, the pains of dealing with a low allocation dealer.

I give props to you folks that were able to get serialized so quickly.

Does being serialized mean a VIN has been assigned?

I had to change dealers but I finally got my VIN. I had ordered my car on Aug 1 from a local dealer and was still waiting, so I put in an order at Village Ford in Dearborn MI last Tuesday. They do a TON more volume and were able to get a VIN for me Today.

I am so pumped!

The wait is a lot shorter now than it was back in 2005. I ordered on 2/5 and got serialized on 4/21. Once I was serialized, the car was built and delivered in just over a month.
