Polished vs. chrome OEM 18” Bullitt style???

Is there a polished AND chrome OEM 18” Bullitt style wheel available for the ’05-08 Mustang? It seems like is many people interchange the two. There is a difference between “polished” and “chrome”, right? What is the part # for the polished version? M-1007-S1885?

I didn't think that chrome was available as an option but...... maybe it is? I'm pretty certain that polished was the only option for 05-07. And yes there is a big difference between polished and chrome wheels- polished = nice and shiny; chrome = mirror-like and shiny.

M-1007-S1885
18in. SPARKLE SILVER MUSTANG WHEEL

Is that the polished bullitt style 18 x 8.5" OEM wheel?

The S1885 wheel is painted silver. The chrome ones are S1885C.
As far as I can tell. Polished 18" are only factory issue. though 17" polished are available

The OEM 18s are Polished Aluminum, not Chrome. Really irks me that everyone calls them chrome just because they're kinda shiny. Here are some pics to show the difference:

Polished Aluminum:

Chrome (via American Muscle):

It’s strange that nobody, but Ford sells the polished version. Nobody even attempted to create an aftermarket polished version. I happen to prefer polished over chrome, but I don’t want to pay the ridiculous prices of going direct through Ford. I’ll have to keep searching the classifieds.

Also keep in mind that those polished Ford wheels are clearcoated and you do not want to use any type of metal polish on them - t will dull the appearance. The clearcoat is there to keep you from having to maintain raw polished aluminum wheels which can be very tedious.

Man if someone made an aftermarket replica of the polished OEM 18", I would be all over that. Everything is deep dish though, which isnt bad, but not what I'm interested in at the moment.

Its been almost 4 years since the S197 has hit the streets, someone make these!

I had the 18'' polished aluminum and now i have the 18'' chrome bullits from Americanmuscle and i think their is a HUGE diff. between the 2. The chrome bullits are wayyy better. Even tho my parents think they look the same, they don't pay attention to my car like i do. Plus i have gotten about 20 comments the past week on them.

Got the 18" polished.... Waaaay better than the chrome. The shape of the American Muscle copies are goofy.

I don't like the outer edge. It is old school, but that is not what I want.
I think the Ford chrome looks better (like the polished) IMO.

YES, you can get the factory 18s in chrome. It's not a factory option, but FRPP does make them. You can either get them direct (pricey) or find a vendor with the factory stuff. I got mine on e-Bay for a killer deal. I couldn't stand the fact that those pretty wheels are polished, had to get chrome.

That does look sweet.
The polished are good enough for me, but if I ever hit a curb...

That is exactly what I meant.
I would probably have reason to buy the chrome ones.

Tirerack.com sells the Ford wheels MUCH cheaper than the dealers. I was checking them out today.
