I make cast aluminum cam/valve covers for the SOHC....So went ahead and polished up my 05 covers. It would be something you could send in and I will polish, and send back UPS . I looked into plating but most processes will not work with the combination of metals ,Magnesium/steel. At this point a good hi temp clearcoat would be the most practical coating. What a difference.! I'll work up some prices in a day or so if the'res interest.

They do look sharp.

Please let us know the cost. And, would you be including the application of the hi temp clearcoat?

We used a greasless compound starting with a course grit working down to a fine grit. We have different size wheels to get into the different crannies. It's a 4-5 hour job/pair. If anyone's interested, they would be $200. + shipping. I will double box them and insure on return. PM me on it . I'll get them on in a bit and take some install pics. Thanks for the replys

I could do a "Core" charge.........Send out new ones ,polished and when Yours rec'd, return the core charge. I could do paypal or I have a card service. New covers are $399.20 list from FOMOCO.

Those do look nice. Will they stay polished over time - I do realize you will be clearcoating - but will they dull down under the clear coat?

How difficult were the valve covers to remove?

thx -

I can't say for sure...they should not oxidize like aluminum. Removing them is straightforward, if you have ever removed SOHC covers in an SN-95 :bang: , these are a breeze . I removed the coil plugs and moved some wire harness and they came out easily. The bolts are captured and the gasket fits in a snug slot. Took about a half hour.
