I use Autolite HTO plugs which are the exact same design as Motorcraft SP-547 that are designed and manufactured by Autolite. Although the design has been improved, keep in mind they are still a 2-piece design spark plug and therefore it's recommended to apply a thin coat of high temp nickel anti-seize only onto the ground shield, located below the threads. Make certain not to apply onto the threads nor beyond the ground shield. Anyhow, I've also included part of an article from the source and link below. In the meantime, hope you'll find the info provided as useful.

DANBURY, Conn. – In an effort to reduce instances of spark plug breakage during removal from the engine, Autolite recently introduced a redesigned Autolite Revolution HT Spark Plug to its line. The High Thread (HT) design incorporates High-Strength Steel (HSS) technology, which reinforces the spark plug assembly for greater mechanical strength and protection against fractures, according to the company.

“Continual innovation is a cornerstone of Autolite,” said Sean Lyon, Autolite senior product manager. “In redesigning the Autolite Revolution HT plugs, our expert technicians addressed the problem of breakage, often caused by a bonding of the plug’s ground shield to the engine due to combustion deposit build-up. By implementing steel more than 50 percent stronger than what was used in the previous model, the new plugs prevent separation of the shell and ground shield.”

Available in four heat ranges, including HT1, HT1.5, HT2 and HT0 for modified (boosted or nitrous injection) engines, the Autolite Revolution HT spark plugs utilize an improved compressive seal that conducts glass-seal terminations and a carbon-based resistor for greater power. The unique High Thread design also protects against corrosion that can deteriorate spark plugs overtime, Autolite says.

+1 on the Nickel anti-seize. It pretty much solves the whole 'they get stuck and separate' issue on those two piece plugs. Works a treat. Just pulled one for inspection, plug looked great and it popped right off and back on as easily as an ol' 302's plugs. Or easier, them 302s were in a bit of a fun spot...

Installed the new Motorcraft SP547 plugs, torqued to 26 ft/lbs. Used high temp. nickel anti-seize. Car seems to be running great.

Glad everything went well with the install and hope there were no issues extracting your old plugs? Also just an FYI: the torque specs are 25ft lbs. Anyhow, just saying for future reference.

Well, that's just it, isn't it. It's one more.

No problems getting old plugs out-they were Champion 1 piece plugs. I read the torque was 22 to 28 ft/lbs.

Exactly the purpose behind stating for future reference, to begin with lol.

Was there a particular reason for making the switch back to motorcraft OEM from the Champion 1 piece plugs? I did read something about some owners having misfire issues with the Champions. As for the torque specs, Ford specifies 25 ft./lbs. according to the service manual.

I was having a little bit of a rough idle since installing the last set of Champs. This was the third set of Champs I had installed. Since I put the new Motorcraft plugs in, the rough idle has gone away. Never had any codes though.

Glad the new Motorcraft plugs got rid of the rough idle issues you had from the last set of champion plugs. Congrats

I remember old threads here talking about how the QC for the Champions had gone downhill - this was circa 2010 or so. Someone posted pictures of the electrodes protruding from the ceramic and other failures - I decided at that point to go back with OEM plus the nickel anti seize. Only 23k on my current plugs but when it comes time to replace, I'm ready with my broken plug remover tool!

You won't need it...

...but I have mine too, just in case.

/Nickel Anti-Seize for the win!
