Please HELP!
1. i never told him to go after the other dealer. when i talked to dean stallings ford and they said they would NOT make it right i told them i was bringing it back.
2. to get the exact car Tom wanted was not out there. color, interior, and exact options. i started looking as soon as they said the wouldnt make the right.
3. i offered to order an 08 just like he wanted, but after we talked for a sometime he and his wife decided that he could live with the wheels. Tom decided he could always change the wheels in the future, but that he couldnt change color or inside color later. so he went with the w wheels.
4. the car was purchased X plan. if you dealer transfer in an Xplan there is NO profit for the selling dealer. not crying here, just really like Tom after i spoke with him and wanted to help him get his dream car. BEFORE he bought the car he understood that i would do my best to help him find the wheels he wants for his car, but before i would be held resposable for the wheels i would rather send it back to the first dealer and let them worry with the next customer about the wheels.
i dont believe Tom and i have a problem. i helped him with some other things to make up for the wheels and he agree that it was fine. he has a awesome car, he is a GREAT guy and has a great wife., but im not going to let you guys run down my dealership when yall dont know all the facts.
I agree if the wrong wheels are on the car that he did NOT have to purchase the car. i would have sent it back the next day to Dean Stallings Ford, but we came to an agreement that we both could live with. i really think he is complaining about Dean Stalling and not Wayne Morris Ford, but i could be wrong and i will find out very soon.

Granted Tom has some fault in this also but the one outstading fact is YOUR dealership accepeted.. (from what I understand) and illegal car. So it seem like all you really cared about was making a sale (profit or not).
You chose to work with a customer to 'make things right' which based off of this thread does not seem to be 100% true.
Your dealership will not fix this problem and becasue of your lack of profit. You stated that yourself! Now I beleive leagally he would have to go after your dealership (if he chose to do it) as his contract is with you!
Then you would have to go after the other dealership as you made a contract with them, but we all know you won't do that.
You may have a great reputation but all it takes is one issue like this to turn that around and from your comments on the post your reputation is going down hill quick.
You really need to face the facts you are in the wrong. 'No good dead goes unpunished'.
You know how many threads there are with people *****ing and moaning that dealers WONT swap wheels??
But you are forgetting that "bored out" and his wife agreed to take the car as is.
That's a contract! THEY SIGNED FOR THE CAR knowing that the wheels had been switched. Once that signature is on the contract it's the end of discussion IMHO. I fail to see how that is Michael Morris' problem, especially if all parties involved knew about the wheel switch and the deal went forward anyway.
I think that "bored out" is now suffering from buyer's remorse and doesn't have a case.

i was ready to send the car back to DEAN STALLING FORD. Tom is at NO fault what so every. i have no problem with Tom. He accepted the car the way it was. PERIOD.
we talked about sending the car back, but he WANTED the car the way it was. i understand that a week or so has went by and he has decided that he wants the other wheels, but at the time Tom and I were happy with the deal
I did not PAWN the car off on Tom. in noway did i mislead him.
Look forward to hearing from Tom on this subject.

Look, whatever transpires between dealers have nothing to do with the new owner. The dealer purchased the vehicle from the original dealer, and should of made sure it matched the invoice. They are supposed to PDI the vehicle as if it just came off a truck prior to delivery, and the TPMS light would of come on.
Most likely the original dealer switched wheels with another unit, and the TPMS may just need to be recalibrated/reset. If they took them off an 06, then the will need the bands.
If you accepted delivery with the other wheels(which is now a should-of would-of could-of issue), they SHOULD at the very least still work. You have no issue with Dean Stallings, YOUR dealer owns the car now. YOUR dealer has issues with DS ford, and you have issues with your dealer.
A: The dealer pretty much HAS to get the wheels on the car working properly I.E. get the bands installed.
B: Worst case scenario: There is not much you can do with getting the 'right' wheel/tire package unless you made an agreement prior to delivery with a 'we-owe' stating the proper wheels will be installed. The dealer needs to fix the TPMS and figure out how to 'pay' for it after the fact. They should get the monies from the original dealer, but that's not your problem. At OUR dealer(other then we would of caught the wrong wheels the second it showed up and made them take it back or pay to fix it), we would probably pursue getting the right wheels put on the car at the orignal dealer's expense.
C: What SHOULD happen: I would sit down with management and discuss this in full as the technically delivered a car with incorrect equipment on it. See what the resolution is before doing anything else. ****ing and moaning to the BBB or newspapers is kinda a waste of time. If you just got the car you can probably back out of the entire deal. And tell the dealer you wish to back out of the sale as you did not sell me the car that you paid for. If they do not take the simplest action-put the wheels that are SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE CAR, I would then go to the regional office. In reality, the dealership should fix this and then pursuse the original dealer for ripping them off. If you get a reputation with the local dealers about something like this and just ****ing over another dealership, they will have issues with other dealers in the area. Stop wasting time emailing and what-not. Step one is go to the dealer and sit down with the general sales manager.
In reality, if the deal is a back-out, then they would end up having to do the same thing either way. So the minimum thing to do(dealer's should be so lucky) is to simply get the wheels to WORK. The 'right' thing to do is to put the right wheels on the car. The other dealer WILL end up paying for the repair-but that is not your problem.

Did he sign the papers with Your dealership? No matter how you want to say it. You did accept the car.
If you did not want to deal with the potential issues this wheel problem could cause you should have refuesed the car, or straight out told the customer you have to take it as is. I know you were trying to help the guy out but by doing that you took on the possibilities of problems.
We all do apprecaite you trying to get the customer what they wanted but unfortunaly in this day and age that seems to casue nothing but problems for everyone.
I hope you and him can correct this.

Wayne Morris Ford and Michael Morris treated me with respect, accepted my x-plan and were fair to me during this transaction. I would do business with them again. I want to make it clear that I do not have a problem with them. They agreed to attempt to find me a set of Polished wheels.
FACT: I bought the car knowing that it was incorrect.
Buy why did I purchase this car?
1. I would have never agreed to purchase this car if I knew it had the wrong wheels on it when it was in Tennessee, hence searching for the right car in the first place.
2. Try looking at your dream car and not purchasing it when it is right in front of you, even if the wheels are incorrect, after putting $10,000 down as a deposit.
3. The next closest car with matching options was in Arkansas and would have put around 750 miles on it to get it to Georgia. I wanted a new car.
I want Ford to know about this and to see if they will make it right. DEAN STALLINGS FORD should have warned Wayne Morris Ford about the wheel switch. Granted everyone is trying to sell a car and I get believe I got the shaft.

Don't get too deep on it. Read my other post. You just bought this car, and haven't made a single payment on it. Go in with a normal disposition and simply lay it out. This is a big purchase. The vehicle is not properly equipped as per the invoice. You have no signed agreement that you bought the vehicle knowingly altered from the invoice. It is not your job to make sure they are selling properly equipped vehicle, it is the so-called professional dealership's responsiblity to make sure they buy their car from another dealer with the proper equipment. It is not your fault if they do not know what they are doing.
Tell them you want to back out of the entire deal unless they make the car as it was to be from the factory. They will fix it, everything else is not your problem. If they do not, which would be a cowardly and ****-poor way to handle the issue and want to ack like a Mickey Mouse dealership instead of a real one, then go to step two. At our dealership, this would never go unresolved as we are professionals.

Same thing, cash or loan(a loan is cash, you just owe the bank).. Have you talked to them about it in detail, I don't see any posts saying so.
And what is your goal? Would you just be content with them fixing TPMS, as you did sort of let them 'off the hook' not pushing for new wheels from the get-go. If you want the proper wheels, now is the time to pursue it. Dont *****foot around with it, the problem is truly with your dealer that you purchased the vehicle from.
It says they agreed to 'try' to find a set, which should be easy enough by going to the parts department and ordering them.

FYI... I asked Michael to come here and look into this issue as he had been a great person to deal with on the SAI boards and has helped alot of people out and is a stand up guy. So please dont jump all over him for those that are doing so without either knowing all the facts or reading them and then not paying attention to what you read. Michael has not shunned his responsibilities and is not trying to screw Tom over. I have been relentless tooling on sales people and dealerships that deserve it but when there are ones that do care and treat people like they deserve to be than that needs to be said as well.
Bored out.. the whole problem is. You want this issue taken care but the dealership YOU bought it from is the one YOU have to deal with.
They sold you the car no matter where it came from. They took resposibility when they made the deal with you. No matter what they are trying to say!
DEAN STALLINGS FORD could care less about you as you did not by the car from them. The problem should be between the dealerships.
However you have caused most of this problem yourself becuse you HAD to have the car.
I don't care for the way your dealership is handeling this and I really think if they truly wanted to help you they would take care of this and it would never have gotten to this point.
You can say all you want about how great they are but they have not shown it on this forum and don't seem to want to accept the fact THEY sold you the car.

OMFG.....Did you read any of this thread??? The dealership he bought it from..Wayne Marris Ford.....told him they were going to send the car back and he said no he wanted it and would deal with it. The only thing that should have happened in hindsight is they should have said no way in h*ll you can have this car because it isnt exactly to invoice and sent it back and then tried to find him something else. But as he himself has said, he did not want that as the nearest car like what he wanted wwas 750 miles away and he didnt want the miles on it. So in trying to take care of the cusomter and make him happy the dealer kept the car and gave it to Tom per HIS request. So tell me how the dealer didnt take care of him and didnt want to help, and hasnt shown it on this forum???? I think after having the car a week or so Tom has changed his mind on the wheels not being a big deal and wants help on how he could change them. And iniitally it looked like a dealer screwing a guy who had no clue about the wheels not being right so we all jumped to conclusions.
At this point if it were me being the dealer id call Tom and demand the car back and return it to the dealership they swapped from who took the wheels off and did something they shouldnt.

the first thing that Tom did when he saw the car was comment on the wheels. he knew right off the wheels were wrong. after we talked i told him i would car DSF the next morning. they would not fix the problem and said they would rather have the car back. i agreed and made plans to send the car back. then we started looking for another car. like tom said. the closest car was 800 miles away and he didnt want to go that far.
when he came in that night we talked some more about the wheels. after a lenghty discussion ( which i enjoyed very much) Tom and his wife decided that if i would help with some service on the NEW mustang he would be OK with the wheels. WMF and i signed a we owe about the service and also put on the we owe that if i found some take off wheels i would work out helping to pay for them, but WMF couldnt afford to pay for NEW wheels. we both signed it. when Tom left i thought everything was fine.
Now, i think what Tom is doing is fine. he has nothing to lose by trying to get the wheels out of DSF. i dont think they will do anything, because like yall have said he bought the car from WMF. but sometimes the noisey wheel get the grease.
if he had bought the car go home and then discovered that the wheels had been changed i would agree with yall 100%, but the facts are Tom and i made a deal that we could both live with. he has said twice in his posts that he has NO problem with WMF or me. i have already said and wil say it again. Tom and his wife are a pleasure to do business with and enjoyed what little time we had to talk.
Im proud to know Tom and his family and would like to thank him for serving our country. This isnt brown nosing because i told Tom this while he was here.
michael
Well sounds like its fixed then. That's why I was asking if he had talked to the dealer already and if he had an agreement on the wheels when he took it. I wouldn't even bother trying to deal with DSF then. Everyone naturally gets a little buyer's remorse after a few days of buying anything big(because you start to get 'used' to something), but it passes. I don't really blame DSF THAT MUCH either because the manager who arranged the DX probably had no idea that someone else had swapped them. The loop kinda closed on them when the porter took the car off the lot there, unless you guys bust thier chops about it. It's a little bit of everyone involved's fault.. But since it was 'made right', then end of story. The only way to really fix it then is to turn the clock backwards, but since we can't, then turn the clock forward and get out driving...
I forgot to order comfort group with my own car(my g/f was 5' nothin) and was kinda mad when it came in, but simply started dating a taller woman, problem solved
Most small issues and concerns with Mustangs are easilly solved with the gas pedal.
Chances are, after a couple years either wheel would end up getting swapped out anyway.
Tom, post pics of your car so we can all tell you how good it looks
And if you've already had that car for two weeks, there had BETTER be some mods coming in the mail..

This is not buyers remorse, I'm very happy with the vehicle exept for the wheels. From day one, it was always clear that I was not satisfied with the wheels on the car. I never made it clear that I was happy with the premium wheels. That is why I accepted the "we owe" to try and search for Polished wheels. I had hoped that this would get the job done.
BTW: No one at WMF pointed out that the wheels were wrong or that the TPMS was tripped! Was it assumed that I would not noticed these details? If you didn't want me to buy the car then why did you say "take it home for the night and see if you like it?" Please do not try to make me look like the bad guy in this situation when I am the only one who lost.
I believe that it is wrong that DSF swapped wheels then lied and said they didn't and say it is Fords fault. I will continue to persue this matter with them and Ford. I never hoped for WMF to get involved. I appreciate the support of all on this forum.

Hate to say this Bored Out, but we weren't there... tough to actually reconstruct what happened.
Whatever is in the sales contract will eventually prevail. Bored out, if you got a "change order" IN WRITING that specifies your wheels are to be swapped out in the future or something to that effect then you are OK.
If you didn't... well, you signed the contract and took delivery of the car as is. Whatever any sales person told you orally means NOTHING, and (I don't mean this with any disrespect) you probably won't get a shred of sympathy from the BBB, Ford, or the courts.
My advice at this point would be to either 1) Learn to love the wheels you have, or 2) Buy better ones that you will be happy with.
Most of us on these forums change out our wheels/tires at some point anyway. You might even find someone willing to swap out or purchase your wheels.
I wish you good luck in finding an equitable and amicable solution to your situation!
OH, a final note: (once again, no disrespect intended) Be careful in how you talk about any dealerships/salespeople when mentioning by name here on this or any forums - you don't need to be on the wrong end of a slander/libel suit either. Be careful! Good luck!

i wanted you to buy the car, but you didnt like the wheels. so yes i asked you to drive it home and see if they would grow on you. if you had decided that you couldnt live with the wheels that were on it i would have sent it back to DSF.
Im sorry that i got involved in this thread on this forum. after i read your post i understood that you didnt have a problem with WMF, but some of the others didnt seem to see that and were calling your salesman a "jerk" and saying WMF has poor customer relations. i think Glenn has done everything you asked and i thought we had taken care of your problem with the wheels.
look forward to seeing you soon
