Just read on BON that each Ford employee will be allowed to get one A-plan for a freind or neighbor. I sure hope this is true.

Yeah, sounds like the X plan not the A plan.

Spouse's parents
Sons and daughters (including in-laws and step-children)

Brothers and sisters (including in-laws, half and step)
Same-sex domestic partners covered under the health care plan (same as it is defined for health care coverage in the "Salaried Employee Benefit Bulletin #152", dated June 8, 2000.)

Note: When both the employee/retiree and his/her spouse are deceased, the surviving family members are no longer eligible.

Who's not eligible?

UAW represented hourly employees, retirees, surviving spouses and their immediate family members are ineligible for Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover, and Mazda*.
*Mazda exceptions:
Edison Assembly Plant employees are eligible for the Mazda truck compact pick-up.
AAI employees are eligible for 626 and Mazda6 sedans.
Kansas City Assembly Plant employees are eligible for the Tribute SUV.

Supplemental employees and non-employees, including agency or contract personnel.

Employees who terminate, effective with the date of termination.

All other family members not mentioned above as eligible, including but not limited to:

The thread on BON started out with someone claiming that Ford employees received a letter saying that they would get 1 A plan PIN per year that they could give to anyone, not just family members.

He was saying that this is something brand new. I haven't followed the BON thread it so I don't know if anyone replied to say if it was true or bogus.

It could be some wise-guy trying to scam an A plan pin out of some Ford worker on BON.

it would stink to work on the Mazda side of AAI, seems they can't use their discount plan for Ford products. Did I read that right?

My S-M at Dealer said last week about the A-plan question, "They are trying to work out the legalates of the agreement, at this time." I hope it goes through, I have a friend kind enough to give it to us, if it happens. Would save us, over $1,200 with taxes. Chrysler does it, why ford?
