I'm sure this gets asked on a fairly regular basis, but please don't blame/flame me for raising it again.

I intend to buy an 05 GT in about an April/May timeframe. (I have a few little things to sort out personally like a pending family move that has to come first.) And I want to find out if anyone can help me get somekind of a A/X/etc. plan price when I'm ready to buy.

Like many of you, I fell in love with the O5 when I saw it. In the few months I've been following this forum, I've learned quite a bit about Mustangs since I never really knew anything about them before. I've never owned one. I've never even owned a Ford before, but I'm hooked. I'm ready to drink the blue oval kool-aid, as it were. I can barely wait.

[BEGIN NEEDY REQUEST BLOCK]

Anyway, the dealers available to me are asking $1000s over MSRP. The shipping costs associated with finding a dealer somewhere else willing to negotiate would be prohibitive. I do know I could negotiate a good price on a V6 if I wanted one - especially off the showroom floor, but that's not what I'm after.

What I want is to be able to order a new 05 GT built the way I want at a fair price.

Can anyone help me?

[/END NEEDY REQUEST BLOCK]

And thanks for l'istening', everyone. I don't know if anyone can help me, but it did feel good to finally ask.

"The Ford Partner Recognition Program, known as the "X Plan", offers partner employees, retirees and spouses."

I believe immediate is also allowed but I don’t think partners can hand out X plan numbers to others legally. The number is tied with your social security number so I doubt most people would give it out.

Ford employees can give out X plans under their "friends and neighbors" program. In fact they are encouraged to do so. If they use up all their plans they even get a signed limited edition Ford GT diecast car. That's how I got my X plan.

Also, check out the sticky above on the Pony Drive. Might be just what you are looking for!

You don't need a plan to get a good price, I got mine at less than X-plan without a plan.

Guys,

Thanks for the thoughts. I don't think the Pony Drive will work for me. Too much ocean in the way. For the same reason, I don't think shipping is a cost effective option.

If anyone happens to come across this who does have an extra friends and neighbors pin (or knows someone who does), I'd appreciate your consideration.

Thanks, Again!

Hey aponyfan, what country are you from and how are you going to get it home? I'm just kind of curious how much it costs for an individual to ship a car to another continent and how much you have to pay in taxes ...

-Thanks and good luck

Ask who ever ordered it for you if you can get it at x-plan because you just found out your eligible. It maybe too late, didn't you agree with the price at the time of ordering?

glevy, not another country. just another state. they're not all connected you know.

I don't know the exact cost, but I have been advised by experts here that it would outweigh any savings.

About 10 years ago, I moved with a car I already had and paid $2500 over the moving costs just to ship the car.

That's why I'm asking about X-Plans. I think it's my only option.

Altoid,

I haven't ordered yet. I'm a few months away from doing that. I'm just trying to plan ahead right now.

Do you mean just tell the dealer I'm eligible? Isn't that kind of dishonest? I mean he will ask for a pin, won't he?

Not very clever of me!! I guess if I went to grade school before 1959 I'd have an excuse for thinking you were in another country instead of another state (and even then you could have been in a territory).

Just as a long shot, here's an old list of Ford's many, many partners (if you work for one of them you're supposed to get x-plan pricing):
http://www.mikefitzpatrick-flm.com/p...list032304.htm

Somebody posted it here:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...l=ford+partners

It's surprising how many and how many different types of companies are on the list.

Good, point. It did take a while to actually get all 50 states.

Thanks for the list. Unfortunately, I don't work for any of those companies, so I'm still back to square one...up a creek (or, ocean, if you will) without a pin.

No, I meant if you get one inform the dealership. But I misread your first post somehow and I though you had already ordered.

Like others were saying Ford people are giving them away. In a couple months they maybe give them away at invoice. Try for something like that then use the AQHA http://www.aqha.com/partners/index.html if it’s still valid.

Thanks, Altoid.

I think I'm back on track now due to some good folks at Ford.
