I'm hoping this will be a link for those who would like one.

Link

Hopefully that'll work.

This is the first time I've heard the term Mustang II Is that something different from a regular Mustang? Did they make 2 different types during those years?

You must be a "young 'un " . Us "old timers" remember that in 1974 Ford introduced the "Mustang II", a redesigned body style with a 4 cylinder engine (in response to the oil embargos / fuel shortages of the early 1970s, which peaked in 1973). That body style ran from 1974-1978, then came the next redesign starting in 1979.

More history later; now back to our program....

I was born in 77, 27yrs old. I remember seeing the 78 style stangs, just never new they had the II at the end. Sounds like I need to watch a little more History Channel and a little less Fox News. Thanks for the info.

II's are unsung, indeed. They look like Mustangs should look. sure, the performance was down, but so was everything in the mid-70's! Even Corvettes were weak at that time.

Mustang II, Cobra II but only Mach 1... the 70's were a strange time to be a Mustang fan.

Picture this with a worked 302 under the hood though:

I never really liked the Mustang II...70's era... just screams Pinto every time I look at the front.

I like the blue car, though.

This was my first car! Mine had the v-6 4spd, thing wouldn't win too many races, but it wasn't a slouch for the time either. Also, what it lacked in speed, it made up in handling. I had much wider tires on there and it handled pretty darn well.
