Both were 5-Speeds. I hope it doesn't mean they are not ready to put autos in yet. These are pre-production cars so who knows. She did say that both of these cars came out of the production molds and only the door panel trim or aluminum on the dash might not be exactly as the production car.

I also went to see the cars in Indianapolis . They were locked 1.) 18" wheels are coming before the 06MY. Just keep talking to the dealers and they can tell you as soon as they arrive. They are Crager wheels and they make the car look much better in person and 2) The SE version will be a Shelby and the soundproofing on the hood underside has a square indented spot for it to go.
1. As much as I want the 18's to arrive before '06, I really doubt it. I would assume that Ford would put the 18" option in the order guide and say "late availablilty"

I am sure a lot of dealers and owners would be ticked off if they added something like this out of the blue especially when the official word is no 18's until 2006.

2. The shelby seems promising, we'll see at the SEMA show

Aren't the order guides we have now a pre-release anyway?

I can't take this emotional rollarcoaster any more. I WANT OFF! A Shelby with a Shaker, OMG!!

The fact that she went up to the car by herself and showed you the indent makes me really believe we are going to see something at SEMA. How would she know that? Even if another fan showed her, she wouldn't go telling others......

Looking at all the clues we've seen so far it really looks like we are going to see a Shelby GT350? with stripes, 18's and a shaker scoop, hopefully at SEMA and not NAIAS.

Now 18's might not be available for the GT until the 06MY, but isn't an SE made even more special if its the only one with 18's for the next year?

While I'm sure a shaker is in the future...something still doesn't sit right.

The indent that all have seen on the 05 minues blanket and with blanket....
are on the SN95 99-04s as well, under the blanket and that hood did NOT recieve a shaker...the mach1 hood is different.

So while I'm sure we'll see one, it may not be with that hood at all.

Dan,

take a deep breath...

If the reason we don't have 18's is equipment issues at AAI, as Hau Thai-Tang said, I highly doubt we will see them in MY '05.

As for the S/E, we have heard differnt things from different people, and I really think she is speculating. If Hau himself couldn't say anything, why would someone else in his department say something? I am taking every S/E rumour with a grain of salt until SEMA.

Sorry for playing devil's advocate, but now in my heart I don't see an S/E until 2007/8. There is enough pent-up demand to fuel sales for 05 and 06. If the competition does come back in '07 the S/E would be a perfect counterattack.

I would love to be pleasantly surprised in november though

The more I see of this car the more I want. But I still can't decide if I want a vert or not. Waiting for SEMA.

The Torch red looks orange in some angles, ugly.

If the Shelby is $30k or under, I'm buying it.

I also went to see the cars in Indianapolis . They were locked up and not letting anyone sit in them by the time I got there. I talked to two of the Ford people answering questions about the cars and was told that 1.) 18" wheels are coming before the 06MY. Just keep talking to the dealers and they can tell you as soon as they arrive. They are Crager wheels and they make the car look much better in person and 2) The SE version will be a Shelby and the soundproofing on the hood underside has a square indented spot for it to go. Both cars looked ever bit as nice in person as all the pics show it. The fit and finish was excellant on these two. They also has a GT, a 500, and the crossover SUV car/wagon there(can't think of the name right now)
Maybe this Ford representative should clue in the chief engineer since he doesn't seem to think that we will see the 18" wheels until 06MY!

I wouldn't hold my breath on the Shelby with the shaker hood.
