Awesome car... but please don't try to compare it to an M3. :nono: The M3 is in a league of its own. :worship:

Thanks for the "welcomes" everyone. You certainly know how to make someone feel right at home.
Sorry it took so long to respond. Life has been hectic lately. To answer some of the questions/comments posted on this thread-
MAN YOU ARE NOT KIDDING! I thought I was crazy thinking that the car collected a lot of bugs! Good to know others feel the same way.

I had an E36 M3, not the current E46 monster. Actually I was planning on buying an M3 converible via Euro Delivery this year (Like I did with my previous M3), but I found it extermely hard to justify the price difference.
Sure the M3 is in a "class of its own", and it isn't really fair to compare the two. But remember, you could buy almost TWO Mustang GT verts for the same price as a fully optioned M3 vert.
Bottom line, for me, the fun to drive and value factor had me buy it. Sure, the Mustang doesn't have heated seats (yet) or seats that remember where they were set when you fold them or as nice of an interior. But you really can't touch the value.
In the first week of owning the car, I got more "nice car" and thumbs up then I EVER got on my modded M3 in the 5 years I had it.

My sentiments exactly...your vert is awesome
but it must have been really hard to get rid of one of the best sports cars in the world!! Too bad you couldn't have had both. No flaming guys!

Belated
from a former BMW owner in the East Bay. You are right as far as value goes--you can't beat the GT. I just don't like the current BMW styling in general, although I might consider an even swap for a new 6-series!
