Picked up my car today and noticed a small crack in the bottom of the front windshield. They said they would order me a new one. Well I have put 20 miles on it and now the crack is about 18" long. I spoke to the service manager and he says it looks like a stress crack. No signs of anything actually hitting the glass.

So for those of you picking up your cars, I know you will be as excited as I was, just make sure you really look it over.

Congratulations

OH MAN I am so sorry to hear this. This has to put a hole in your baloon for sure. Ride and enjoy and get your eyes off that crack. Don't let that little thing ruin your fun with your new ride. There is not a big dent in the side or the front 3nd smashed in.

Oh well crack in windsheild is an easy fix, although one can do without on a new vehicle. My Envoy had 700 miles and I got a stone chip at eye level, so it got replaced. I feel for you.

Heh, crank up the Shaker and see if it will crack it the rest of way!

Enjoy, their one Sweet car.

Since it's a brand new car and model for the Mustang are they going to have problems getting a hold of a windshield? Did they say how long it'd be?

Is that all (5-10 minutes)???? I tell you, I will be over and under that car for a minimum of 30 minutes......and I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to an hour. B) I am ULTRA-Meticulous, and my dealership knows this as well.....so they are prepared to go grab lunch before we even think about talking $$$.

Congrats on your car!

Bummer with the windshield but, as said, it's an easy fix. If anything on the car has to be dented or cracked, I definitely prefer it to be the windshield over any body panel.

Sorry to hear about the windshield problem but congrats on the new stallion anyhow!

Fixing a windshield is a pretty quick job. Like others have said, just make sure you get a Ford windshield and not some "Acme Glassworks" piece of junk.

Good luck!

Don't accept anything less than what came with the car from the factory....

That one is on mine! Does every Stang have it? Didn't even notice until a brief ray of sunshine made it's presense known.

Everybody take care, I told myself again and again, once I sign, that's it, so look it over completely. I nearly lost it in the excitement and almost left my wallet where I picked up the car. It is really easy to get carried away, so keep something to remind you of the 36-72 months you are paying for this puppy (or the time you spent saving) to keep yourself focused. It's your job to find the things that need fixing to make you happy.

Most dealers are honest people, but don't give them a reason to regret sending you out the door with something you should have noticed. Nobody benefits from the bad feelings.
