Torch Red and Performance Red are nice but if you really want a shade of red that pops out at you, then get Redfire. This color is just awesome when it glistens in the sunlight. I've got it on my 03 v6 and I just love the color.

BTW, have you seen the new pics of the redfire 05 GT....
When I saw the redfire 05 pics for the first time I thought" WOW! That's gonna be my color!" but then I took the time too look closely at the Redfire '04 and '03 on the street and it seems to me that in normal daylight this red has a pinkish hue that doesn't appear on the pics... Anybody noticed? Maybe I'll wait for '06 Titanium or Colorado red instead...

Yep. 2000 Cobra R's came in Performance Red only, code ES I think. But the pic
that Dan showed isn't from a real Cobra R. Thats has to be a 2001 Cobra R clone(No R
hood and side exhaust). Performance Red came for the first time on the New Edge
model in '99 for the GT 35th ann. special edition. Cobra's, regular GT's and V6's came
in Rio Red and Laser Red for that year.

In 2000 and 2001 all cars were available in Red, except regular 2000 Cobras that never
showed production. So the car that Dan showed has to be a 2001 Performance Red
Cobra with 99-00 side scoops

I had an '00 V6 convertible in Performance Red.. black top and black leather....it was the HARDEST color to find...i LOVED it...its like an orangey red.....I miss that car!

my lease was up in 03 so i went with an '03 GT Silver....I had that for only 11 months and i traded it in for an '04 Mach 1 Screaming Yellow...

Now im waiting for the '05 to come out so i can SCREAM that yellow right by them!

F E R, thos pics are hot! Performance red was defenately that color I fell in love with back in '01...in fact I even had found a sweet '01 performance red gt vert w/black leather + top and I wouldn've have bought it but it was auto

I might just go with sonic blue for '05...torch red seems nice but not unique like performance red...it looks more like every other flat red you see on every other car/suv...

Preacher,

I saw the redfire GT here in San Diego for the Pony Drive last summer. IMO there isn't a pink tint to that color. I am not attracted to pinkish or orangy-red. Redfire is DEVISTATING!

I think he means purple........ Looking at the 05 pics, the redfire looks amazing, but as preacher said, the 03's and 04's look like a dark red/purple driving around. I'm not a fan. Torch looks sweet on the SN-95's.

Could they have changed the colour a bit for 05 or is it EXACTLY the same?

Dan, you need to find out the paint codes, if the codes did not change, then neither did the color.

I say get redfire, when zaino'd up it would look much deeper than torch.

Well, if he meant purple, he shudda said purple (lol)!

I like that dark, garnet kinda crimson red. Didn't really think it was purple, but it isn't fire engine red, is it?

Caught an 04 Redfire v6 coming through the car wash today. I just believe strongly that of all the reds, that one is the best. When you think Candy Apple Red, the Redfire delivers. If it's got to be red, it's Redfire for me!

Unhappy

Here's to illustrate my point about Redfire sometimes looking pink (or purple if you wish):

This one looks really great! (is that even Redfire or some kind of non production red???)

That one is what I call pinkish

Would the Redfire Mustang always looks like the first picture I wouldn't hesitate on the color...

That is EXACTLY my dilemma. I want to like this colour, but some shades disappoint.

What I need is a Torch RedFire!

At first I had this idea about a dark red car with white racing stripes, but I'm really not sure anymore that it would look good on a Redfire mustang... And if I don't take Redfire, I'm really confused about which color I prefer... Aaaargh I've never been good at making those kind of life choices!!! :bang:

Anybody knows what Colorado Red might look like for 2006?

I think colorado red is currently being used as a focus color.

And I could be wrong but I don't thinking lighter red metalics look that great. My sister has a neon in a medium/lighter red metalic and it's appropriately called "strawbery red".

Strawbery red mustang gt. Yeah, that doesn't quite sound right!

Dan, I think that second picture of the redfire is just a result of the sun dulling the car's color down a bit. I didn't see any "pink" in Redfire at the auto show but I'll inspect it again when a dealer gets one around here and displays it in the sun.

You did hit a point I wanted to mention though. I compared redfire on the 04 to the 05 and it did appear a little different. Maybe it's just my eyes but who knows.
