This is the strangest thing, my last 3 cars were a V6 mustang, a 4cyc. Accord, and now a V8 05' and it's still the same, I have to fill up once a week. I must admit though, that since I got my GT, I havn't been up to my regular driving routine. I am now so I will see how long my latest fill up last. The trip computer reads 17mpg.

Good one April! I must say, I agree to a certain extent. Thing is, if I wanted this car for gas mileage, I probably wouldn't have bought it. It's not an economy car.

Oh, and 87 octane btw. I actually put $15 in today with only one pump kickoff. Of course I was holding the boot completely up while pumping too.

I use 87 octane, and I get about 18-19 mpg in city driving, haven't had it on any highway trips yet.

87 octane..... and about the same # of trips to the fueling station that I was doing in my Isuzu Rodeo V-6 that I traded in on the Mustang.

87 octane all the way. It runs like a raped ape on 87, and it's cheaper. That being a good point as it's not the best on gas mileage.

BUT, if you wanted good gas mileage, you wouldn't be buying a Stang now wouldja?

87 octane - avg 24 mpg. I would not say it is a gas guzzler. That is better than the 18mpg my 97 GT got, the 14mpg my Jeep liberty got and the 21mpg my 2000 Grand Prix GT Supercharger got.

You are right. Forget about 87 octane if you flash the computer for 91 or higher. Tons of posts on this topic already and alot of us posted and/or agreed that running anything other than 87 can actually harm your engine unless it has been modified to run the higher octane.

I'm averaging 18-21 in the city and have actually got 26 on the highway over the weekend. I had to fill up my 01 Mustang more often than the 05.

87 octane. I tried 3 tanks of 93 octane and gas mileage seemed to be worse.
The '05 is using about 1 liter/100Km more than my '03 GT was. But it does get up to 60 km/h (or 80, or 100) quicker than the '03 did!

when that pedal is introduced to the carpet on a GT....its the sound of gas burning....not the farting of rice popping
