Peeping Toms...

I was coming out of my favorite burrito place last a few nights ago and found this dude looking into my 20% tinted window at night

My last car was stolen so I'm likenot again!

I press the lock button on the Ford Keyfob to honk the horn and flash the lights.

He jumps like all surprised. "I'm sorry dude. But I love you car"

I say "Thanks"

He responds "Its a beautiful ride dude"

I say "Thanks, I appreciate that"

Why do people do that? If you are caught doing that to a house you would be arrested. It's one thing to do that at the service department, but at 10 at night?

Maybe I'm paranoid...

End rant.

agree, keep your distance a few feet to check something out, unless at a car show, people shouldnt be staring into your car

I have been guilty of this also, but if i see a bad *** ride i will never touch anything out of complete respect unless as Sams66 says its a car show. I also don't want to get shot.

If I look at someone's car and they are not around, I keep my hands in my pockets. Look but not touch. I usually walk around and check out the whole car.

If someone looks at just the interior, something is up IMHO.

I clasp my hands around my back, and then lean in a little if needed. Dad taught me that as a kid. It shows you respect their car enough to ensure you don't touch it.

/I never touch anyone's car without permission.
//I'd be all freaked out and calling 911 maybe. I'll show that gawker.

I've looked AT cars for sure, but never IN them. That's just weird to me. What do you want to see inside? You can't see the motor in there.

+1 but I don't touch at car shows. That's a BIG no no.

But I admit, I do look into other people's cars. I like to see what interior mods they have!

That being said, I wouldn't do it at 10 at night, unless something really caught my attention. Seen one Mustang interior, you've pretty much seen them all. And with the audio place I've worked at, it takes a LOT to "wow" me. Idk man, I'm sure he was just admiring, but I would have the same reaction you did...

on the no touching. I'll get close, look in, at, under, wherever i see anything that looks interesting

though... looking through 20% tint at night especially is weird...

I don't know about you guys but I carry a floor jack in the bed of my truck so I can really admire people's cars.

If you don't want people looking at your car, don't drive it in public. My biggest pet peeve is people LEANING on my car. That is disrepectful.

I do believe it had nothing to do with looking at the car, but IN the car. And I agree with Houtex and Gary. Hands behind the back and walking around the car shows true appreciation.

In Vegas we have a huge 3 day event called Super Run. It's like 2 miles of a car show down one street. It's weird that no matter the age, everyone follows the same "rules of the car show"

Why can't people do that outside of the show. Oh well. I think I'm going to replace my alarm with a system that emits the Joker's laugh.

I want my alarm to shock people who get too close. Once is a shock. Twice stuns you for 15 seconds. Third time you're vaporized. Too harsh?

That reminds me of a story...

I pull into a convenience store once and go inside to get something. As I'm standing in line I see a lady and a boy get out in the car next to mine and the boy stops and stares at my car. The lady pulls the boy away and as they walk inside the door she says to him, "Don't touch it! It looks like it would shock you!"

I smiled. My work there was done.

I immediately thought of that too.

I have a rule for this. Other peoples cars are like a under age girl. The same rules apply.

1. No leaning on them
2. No getting to close
3. No bugging the owners about what under the hood

and so on...
