Be Patient

You all need to be patient. Now I know its easier said than done but buying a car is like buying a house. Think about this. 1st of all you spend a lot of time in a car like you do in a house. 2nd of all a car it is your second biggest investment so you want to make that its exactly what you want. 3rd when you decide to buy a house do you get it within a week or 2? No. It takes you a while to find your dream house. Then you have to wait for the closing. To make a long story short buying a house and by the time you get in it, anywhere (on a average) from 2 to 6 months go by. For the above reasons and more you should be patient.
I wish you guys the best of luck and hope your cars come in real soon. Have faith and be patient. If your not patient you will always wonder what that Mustang would have been like. The worst of all is to get a different car and then 1-2 months down the road get a call from the dealer saying your car is in!! :bang:

I was finally serialized btw. when I bought my house, it was 45 days from first visit to close..... Buying a house and buying a car are two totally different things.

Agreed, when I bought my house, lets just say that I have been on rides @ Disney World that lasted longer. It's relatively easy to purcahse a home, at least in my case. But this house is temporary until I build mine.
Now a car, "Patience is a virtue". I know what car, what style, and now FINALLY what color, I want. I refuse to budge and luckily, my salesman is very happy to sell me the car I want, not the car he wants to sell me. So I say decide on what you want and don't settle for less.

The difference is they aren't producing 100,000 houses you are trying to buy.
Ford is mass marketing this car and there should be the supply to keep up. If they can't meet demands, they need to set expectations better in the first place.

It took my wife and I 8 months to find a house and a week to close.
Now, I knew what car I wanted and order process took a week and it'll probably take 8 months to deliver. <_<

Good thing my house wasn't built on an allocation system or I would be living in a tent. My new house didn't take this long to build

Amen....
I have been patient. And will continue to be patient till I get what I ordered because the car is what I want. I wasn't made aware of this hornets nest when I placed the order. I wish I would have found this forum earlier so that I would have been better informed. Hind sight is always 20/20.
However, I now know, no matter how hot the future Ford product is. I will not order anything from Ford. My patience has definitely run out with regards to this stupid allocation system. Hello, I have money, and I want the product that I ordered in a reasonable amount of time. If not, I would like a frikin’ explanation (this is where Ford really lacks)! I am willing to wait in line, I don't have a problem with that, but hello, I am a paying customer and would like to be treated with a little dignity and respect.
At least if you are building a house, you have plans, deadlines, and progress. If you are buying a house, you can drive by and take a look at your future. There is something tangible that you can see.
If you are like me and decided to order your dream car from Ford (12 weeks and counting with a production date in April (if that is true)) :bang: you get no feed back, nothing, nodda, zilch. Someone was right when the pointed out that this is the second largest purchase in most people’s life!
Sorry for the rant. I was told once this week to expect my car in a few weeks then was told a few days later that production was pushed to the first week in April and I would see it by the end of April if I was lucky.
BTW, I don't blame the dealers or salesmen. I know enough folks in the business to understand that they have no control over Ford's Stupidity.
This is really sad that I feel this way. I have owned three Ford vehicles in the past and they have beaten all the other cars I have ever owned hands down when it comes to reliability and service.
For the record, I bought my last house in less than 15 days.
Oscar
Maybe he means "building a house". Because it does take forever and is one headache after another. I for one will never do it again. Ironically from what I hear my experiene was "good". Can't imagine what a bad one feels like!
