If you get the Bassani X pipe for street use, it actually comes with cat deletes too (I have this). Put the cats back in for smog, then remove again.

Your car will not pass without cats.

In Texas it would. For obd2 It only has to pass a computer scan. Ie if you have a check engine light it will fail. Getting a tuner to shut the back two off..certainly. as long as your tint is right and your lights/horn all work your good. I would get them to put the handheld obd scanner to be sure. Once its 95 or older emissions testing ex. tailpipe Sniffer comes into play but no obd scan is required. Funny huh. I just do what the dps tells me to do. What state are You in
Edit Just saw NY

Well since its already illegal to run without cats you probably already know that you can find a place that will pass if you if you hand them a Big Ben

Not sure about that one I can check into it. It wouldn't really be a change right its tricking the computer into thinking its normal

I believe it would detect if any of the emissions sensors have been altered or shut off.

Why not just shell out the money for the catted intermediate pipe? Its alot better than spewing untreated crap from the exhaust.

Ny will not pass the car. They do a safety inspection as well and will not pass you without them- they lift the car and check the underside, wheels, brakes, etc... You can have high flows welded in or change it back to stock everytime you go in.

Its true best to go to a car show and ask around. Look for up to date stickers on clearly not passable cars. Ask who did it. Have a hundred bucks ready

Does NY actually do a smog test(probe in the tail pipe)? If you turn off your 02's, the readiness monitors will be incomplete and you will fail.

So you think I'd be able to pass here in TCif I get these Borla LTs w/ no cats? How much difference will having/not having cats make performance-wise? Never dealt with anything past the axle before...
