Park with convertible top up or down?
Convertible owners: In a parking lot, do you leave the top down?
If down, do you lock the glove box with your insurance card and registration in it?
What about a radar detector?
CDs?

I always leave my top down and park really far. So far no problems yet but after reading some of the post here I am having second thoughts.
Do you guys leave it down in the garage? I notice the wrinkles on the top after extended period of being down. The rub is also apparent when you put the top down behind the passenger side.

I used to feel the same way (stuff being thrown in car)... but i'm just plain lazy. It all depends on what part of town I'm in. And how long I'll be gone. It's more a matter of sun turning the seats into frying pans than any worry about something happening.
Glove box stays locked all summer, but I don't carry my registration in there anyway. Don't have to in WI. Don't switch out CD's much since I have the MP3's in there. But there is a visor CD holder under the passenger seat with burned CDs.
Been 2 summers and nothing bad so far.

I usually leave to top up at work and then drop it for the ride home and leave it down during the night (in the garage) and then it's topless for the morning ride to work. During the summer I have a California Pop Top cover which covers the passenger area only and keeps the interior much cooler and keeps the sun off the leather. Got it from California Mustang for less than $40. It's very fast and easy to install and remove (much easier than a full cover). I also use it when I leave the top down to keep the leaves and bird poop off the seats. Their website is: http://capoptop.com.

I tend to leave the top down as well, but it also depends on what side of town I'm in. The next day it comes down, the boot goes on and I'll leave it off until I'm done with the car for the day. No problems so far.
By the way, what's the durability of the motors and fabric if the top were raised and lowered constantly?

My last convertible was a '64 Impala SS...I learned that you always leave your top up if you're going to let it sit more than just a few minutes...I don't know how many times I would come back and find someone had thrown some Coke over the rear seats and I even once found a cigarette butt (luckily it was out) ...just like Sandy said...leave it up. If the vandals don't get you...the birds will.
At a minimum, put up all of your windows...

I have to drive down with my wife and kids every Thanksgiving and Xmas, cuz the inlaws live in Homestead and Kendall. I'd rather have my toenails plucked out. That's how much I HATE that area. Hopefully you never have problems .
