Ten days of on and off rain. I was bored, though of painting the fuel rails, but hopeing for chrome ones soon. So, I though this yellow dipstick has no place in this engines bay. So, I pulled it out to look at the oil, still clean (only 376 miles) what can I do.

I grapped the dremel and started some cleanup of the casting. Finished with a fine sanding sponge and then superfine. Looks a lot better already! But paint would be better. What color? Maybe red, that would be nice. I have none and its rainning out again. What about purple to match the calipers.

Put it outside to dry better. Five minutes later, it starts to rain.

When the wife came home and found it, she loved it.

That looks really nice. I'm looking to do something other than the traditional red; and purple came to mind even before I saw your post. Purple and silver go together well.
