Painted Calipers

Painted Calipers
Anyone have any success with painted calipers? I can see right through my rims, and its killing me to see those ugly gray calipers. I have never painted them myself, and my friends have, but they get all crappy looking and dirty and the paint fades. Anyone know where you can purchase already painted/colored calipers? Post any pics.
I wanna go red on a blue car? Suggestions?

I have a set of 4 stock calipers that were once painted so the paint is chipped some and faded, but I'm willing to sell to you for $150 plus shipping so that you can send them off for powder coating. I purchased a second set and had them powder coated.

You can get a caliper paint kit, there's a couple of brands out there. It will take a few hours, but the results are well worth it.
Downside, now there's more to keep clean! LOL
I used the Duplicolor kit on mine.

Go to Ebay, and search for G2 caliper paint. It is strong stuff, haven't heard of anyone's calipers chipping when painted with the G2 kit. Took me about 4 hours total, including removing the wheels, cleaning the calipers, painting, waiting to dry, reapplying additional coats, etc.
You can do this mod yourself and get excellent results for like $40.

From all the research I'm doing, power coating is definitely the way to go. Absolutely will not chip...even if you take a hammer to them.
Downside is the $$. You'll have to take the entire assembly apart.

I took a dremel with a wire brush wheel to clean mine up at tire rotation time.
It comes out much more silver than gray.

I used Duplicolor on my Altima (I know, I know, spare me). The stock were an odd dark olive green colour, which looked rusty on the older cars I've seen around. I painted them black a few months after purchase, and they still look fine about 10k miles later.

I'm pretty sure this is the guy I got mine from when I did the calipers on my 96 :

I did one car in Black with a G2 kit and I love it. Anyone hear a rumor or know where I can actually get a G2 Metallic Kit in Redfire? They advertise special Mustang kits, but they do not show specific locations to find the Redfire one.

This is were I bought mine from, they have them for $35.14. They have a pretty wide range of colors listed. I actually bought the yellow and red and mixed my own to get grabber orange, it came out pretty good.
