I have a paint defect in my 5 week old 2006 GT. It is on the main lip of the front bumper...it is like a thin spot in the paint that is also roughed up. Should this be covered under warranty?

Also, in certain lights, it is really obvious that my front and rear bumpers are not the exact same shade of white...is this due the plastic or is it a flaw?

thanks!

If it is a thin spot, the dealer should have to repaint it.

Typically most plastic bumpers have an ever so slight difference in color and texture. I believe I read somewhere it is due to the difference in material.

Hopefully they can match the color a little closer.

By all means take it back

My 05 GT had a plate sized milky white area on hood. Dealer
fixed it (mostly).I think they said they buffed it out. Sometimes I think I can still see where it was, but I try not to think of it! My car is black and it shows everything!
Good luck with your car, I'm sure it will be taken care of to your satisfaction.

Definately take it back. Sounds like a thin spot. I have one on my passenger door. Can only notice it at an angle.

Or ...you can do what i did, i had a thin spot on the hood of my silver GT. I was going to take it to the dealer and and have them re-paint it. But i thought they would make it worse. So two weeks ago during a big storm, a tree branch fell right in the middle of the hood. Got the car back from the body shop today, the hood looks great.

How convenient. What are the odds of that happening?
If I had that problem, the limb would have fallen on the roof instead of the hood.
