Paint Costs?
#1
So what would I be looking at, would you think, price wise
If I were to get a Hood + Side Skirts + Side Scoops
for a mustang GT convertible.
But they come unpainted obviously, so they'd need to be painted, but have no idea what costs that would entail. Trying to figure how much I need to save

I'm assuming the hood is fiberglass....if it is smooth and the gel coat does not need repair I would say between 300.00 and 400.00 If it needs work prepare to spend a good many extra dollars ( pay paticular attention to the body gaps and the front corners)
side skirts....probably urethane, requires specal prep to make sure the paint last. the price of thee vary greatly depending on the maker of them , I would say the will need "working" prior to basecoat. They will need to be cleaned, scuffed, adhesion promoter, primed with 2k primer, block and sanded, re-primed, blocked and sanded again then the base coat can go on. I primed and block and sanded my roush front end 4 times to get the pin holes worked out ( that would have been 300.00 in labor alone prior to paint.). I would say for the skirts think in the 250.00 ( they were in great shape to start) to 400.00 they needed a good amount of work.
side scoops....same prep and side skirts...depending on the condition to start, between 175.00 and 250.00..
hope this help some at least.....always remember , paint and bodywork is NOT the place to cut corners....if a shop quote you either dramatically higher OR lower than these prices I would keep looking around.
