Paint chips on hood
I knew it was inevitable...but com'n, in the first 90 days! Took a couple of stones to the hood. I'm getting rig striped this month, but unfortunately, these chips are outside of the stripe lines. Any suggestions as to best remedy? (paint pen? buff out?). These chips are down to the alum. Thx.

Ouch! That sux big time...
Take it to a reputable Paint & Body and see what they suggest. From my past experiences, I could always tell where I 'tried' to touch up the paint.

I wouldn't do any sort of touch up. I second TacoBill's recommendation. Take it to a professional shop. I have two chips that I need fixed as well. The shop that did all of my paint work has looked at them and said they can fix them. I just haven't had the time to leave the car with them yet. He said to stay away from the touch up pens, etc.

Yeah, What they said... Paint pens
. Several manufactures sell chip kits, but you really have to know what you're doing or it'll look worse. I feel your pain as I know that's the first place you look at every time you go near the car. I'd say leave it alone until you can have a reputable painter take care of it.

Just had the same thing happen to me. Two dents from rocks off a truck. About $350 to repair the small dent, repaint a 1 sq. ft. area and than clear coat the whole hood. Looks brand new again.

Q, I just use touch up paint. Yes, it looks "touched up", but it costs only a few bucks. And, repainting it may be noticeable as well.
I would suggest trying to find a sharpee that has a similar color, and using that as a touch up marker
But, that is why I love dark colored cars, especially black. I just use a black sharpee for a rock chip, and it's hardly noticeable

Guys...thx for the feedback. I need to get my CDC chin spoiler paint-matched (as soon as I find a body shop quote under $250), so maybe I'll increase my pain and get the hood chips quoted at the same time.
