that`s a big model to have..not sure if it runs.

If I'm not mistaken every vehicle on display at the Detroit Auto show must move under it's own power. So it runs... though it might have a focus engine in it.

I wonder if Brad knows where its at. There's always the possibility that Leno has hogged this up for his collection as well. He has every other car known to man.

Man I really wish there was a way to get those wheels. If they where an option I would have paid a lot for them. The available upgrades (no offense people) just look like complete crap compared to those babies.

Getting that concept, I believe ford has a warehouse or three where all concept cars, after they are done showing are "corralled" and kept. Ford wont sell them, and NAIAS cars I do not believe have to be able to move under their own power. If i recall I have seen a clay or two, where it is a body on a clay mockup with only the top portion of the interior and seats put in, with the rest of the interior being covered and being clay. Either way, theres no way you're going to get you're hand on that mustang. If they were to put it up for sale, they easily could fetch six figures.

I've got to say the hood was one of my favorite parts of the concept, I just wish the GT500 had that hood.

Reminds me of how much worse the 17-inch "upgrade" wheels look on the production model than they did on the concept...
Bah! I still like the 17-inch upgrade wheels more than bullitts, fanblades or anything. This is not to say that I dislike those, but luckily they have different options for everyone

Definitely like the Concept, which has a more stylized rendition of the various Mustang design DNA, a bit more modern and deftly done. Some of the elements on the production Stang are a bit fussy and show a less fine styling hand.

Some of this can be blamed on production, cost and regulatory necessities and constraints while others elements (overly busy rocker panel area, mismatched interior panel join lines, etc.) I think are just less than tight styling/design/production department development integration.

It all works well enough and looks "good enough" certainly, but does miss that Nth degree of refinement that would have transformed the S197 from a very sharp looking car to automotive art.

I'm with you future. I really wanted those taillights too. Would have really looked good with a sequential set-up going. I wish some company can somehow develop a kit that looks like the rear of the concept. I would get one, but I think it would be 1 hard project to make fit on the new car.

Anyone remember the first shot of the concept drawing from Motor Trend back in 2002?
Well here is a picture of it. Fell in love with it from the first time I saw it.
And this is what mine is like now.

Is the picture of the original white concept mustang from the Henry Ford museum? Looks familiar.

Yes. I finally got to go and the one car I wanted to see (the #1 64 1/2 white convertible) wasn't there. It was out on loan. But it was pretty cool to see that one.
