It just seems like yesterday that I ordered my '07 vert! Enjoy the wait. it will be great when you bring it home. This was my first vert and I love it.

On the train

My dealer has been cryptic in response to my status inquiries. Every time I've called him I've asked for the VIN but he says he doesn't have it. In June was able to tell me my scheduled build date (July 16) but couldn't tell me the VIN. Well today I called, and he told me it was "on the train to San Antonio, TX but hasn't gotten there yet" but that's all he could say, still no VIN so I can't track it. Should I be concerned that he won't give me the info? I am glad to hear it's on the train though - just wonder when it'll be here.

That doesn't sound real good to me. I ordered on 6-16-07 and got my vin last week. Ask for details or go to another Dealer!

If you're willing to go to Fort Worth, I could put you in touch with my sales guy, or work a deal with one of the Salesmen online here.

When I ordered my car, I had the VIN provided to me on the same day it became available, which was in about 2 weeks. I definitely would be asking for this information and expecting it to be provided without hesitation.

I would think the dealer would need to have the vin# in order to give you a status update i.e. "on the train to San Antonio, TX but hasn't gotten there yet"

Nice! The wait will be long but worth it.

Plus I learned something about the priority business.

Reverend: I hope you washed the underside of your car after that beach-going experience...I can just imagine the accelerated rust in a few years if you don't...

I would think so too. Every time I call he has to "check with his guy" and get back to me. Then he tells me whatever update "his guy" has but when I ask for more details, all he can say is "that's all I know."

Thanks for the photos, I could only imagine exactly what it would look like before! But now I really can't wait after seeing how great it will look.
