I finally ordered a 2005 Mustang GT today.
Premium, Sonic Blue, Light Graphite Interior
IUP, Anti-Theft, Side Airbags
Automatic.
I did this over the phone and the dealer said the order would go in tonight and I should have the car in 6 weeks.

I used the price list to calculate the cost of the car (model and options) and came up with $25994, and the dealer said my figures were correct as to price.

I thought I would also share what another dealer told me today...
You're not going to find a dealer that's going to accept X-Plan (factory order or retail cars), and that I would be lucky to get an 05 Mustang at MSRP.
He also told me that if I order a Mustang I wouldn't come in for at least a year, then less then an hour later I ordered my car with an estimated delivery of 6 weeks.

Now you join the rest of us who are waiting for their cars to arrive. Congratulations, but don't kill the dealer at the 6 week point. It's not worth getting locked up for, besides, someone else will be driving your mustang then.

I know that several Dealers have been offering X-plan. A lot of members have been getting it. A local Dealer here in Texas is offering it, but I also understand that it's up to the Dealer if they want to offer it or not.

Congratulations! Mine showed submitted to plant by the following Monday after I ordered on Wednesday. I'd check back with them on Monday and see if you have a VIN. You might be in for a wait on the IUP though. Hopefully Ford's supplier will be able to catch up soon.

My dealer said if I could produce a PIN for the X-plan, he would accept the plan pricing.

Congrats on the order but if this is a fresh order you may want to retalk to your dealer about the wait. If this order is just being placed there is virtually no way you'll see it in 6 weeks. The hold on the IUP could last that long alone. If they are matching you to an already incoming car then their is a chance but if this is a fresh order I would plan on a much longer wait.

My IUP cuased a one week hold on my car. I would expect a new order to arrive first or second week in December.

My dealer called me this morning to let me know that the order was accepted today and I should have my VIN early next week, and I hope a build date.
Since I was aware of order delays due to the IUP I asked if any holds or delays came up when the order was submitted and he said that he didn't see any problems in regard to the IUP.

When I had the dealer on the phone I asked him what I should do to track the car's progress (call him once a week) and he told me that he might be able to give me a website that I can use to track the car.

He said he would call me early next week when he gets the VIN and (I hope) a build date.
I also agree with the other member that said that I should expect the car to take longer then six weeks for delivery.
