I might have jumped the gun on this. I ordered my 06 Mustang yesterday and today found out about x-plan for friends. Am I too late or can I still get the plan? If I go back to dealer and add active theft or something maybe they can re-order? Any info would be great. Either way I can't wait till it shows up. TIA

Technically you are supposed to have the pin number prior to talking to a dealership.. You had better ask the dealer if they will accept x-plan on the Mustang.

yes, they may tell you sorry, we dont accept Xplan on Mustang GT.
Then I would go shop around for one that does, keeping your order in until you found one that will.

Maybe even cacelling your order if he says no, may change his mind

X-plan is hard to come by on GT's, all but impossible on convertibles (that is what I have on order).

If you do get an x-plan, you may get a lower priority number, since the dealer will put his more profitable sales on the top of his want list.

So it could be a trade-off. X-plan can certainly save you money, but it may have you waiting 4 months or more for your car.

John,

Personally I find it a crime to pay over msrp, so I'd cancel my order and get back my deposit if they don't take xplan. You can get an xplan pin by going to www.blueovalforums.com and make a request for a pin. You should be able to get one in a few days. I got one in 3 days after posting a request.
