Hi, I just placed an order today for a sonic blue GT and I ordered the IUP. The salesman said that i have basically no chance of getting the car with the IUP but I had him put it in that way anyway based on Brad's info about the fact that they are producing cars with the IUP. What do you guys thinks, did I wait to long to order?

Your dealer needs to get out more! They are producing cars with IUP's, they never stopped. The only thing that happened was they quit scheduling cars with IUP for awhile. They are now scheduling them again.

As of 1/13 (when I ordered my GT) Ford's order system was still accepting orders with IUP. There will definitely be a delay, however, due to a huge backlog of orders with IUP. Ford, as I understand it, has never said they are discontinuing IUP. They just suggested you order IUP Lite for faster delivery. My guess is your salesman wants a faster delivery so he can get a faster commission check. Or perhaps he is just misinformed.

Welcome to the waiting game, BTW!

You're welcome. I think I need to clarify a little bit though. If I'm wrong, I'm sure there are plenty of people in the know who will tell us. When the IUP hold came out, they already had a lot of cars scheduled to be built with them. They continued to build those cars, but didn't make any after that until recently.

You are right the people who orders in by Dec maybe Jan will get their Gt's Feb-March time frame. The people that order now will wait 4-6 mo. because the demand for parts is so great, and the conv. are coming out also and will need parts too.
order Dec. 13 touch red GT loaded with polished bullitts
