last year when i rented a GT-H. I knew ahead of time about the need to run it on premium. the staff at hertz just told me to put in the low grade stuff, they throw in octane boost there. ain't that some !

Dude, you'll be fine. A friend of mine had a Chevy 2500 truck, that was supposed to run on 91, he ran it on 87 for like 20k miles (smart, I know), but he started hearing the pinging, put in the other, and the pinging went away, and the engine is perfectly normal, and he's getting better mileage.
As to the post above, thats some major league bull****. More importantly, how long were you waiting for a GTH. I havent found a Hertz dealer within like 400 miles to rent a GTH. My parents were gonna rent me one for my 18th, but so much for that idea. The Hertz's here dont even have the V6 Mustangs.

stangmahn: I rented one last year for my birthday as well. i think i reserved it about 2 months in advance, i'm fortunate living close to orlando. they were supposedly one of a few places to rent them. after renting a v6 prior to that. the GTH definately swayed me to a GT.
