I just wanted to let you know that I just bought my Redfire GT today in Charlotte and drove it to work (I work the nightshift), and this car is amazing! I've been practicing driving with a stick in my girlfriends 95 neon, but this is just loads more fun, easier to drive (!), and better shifting. I like the notchyness, and I like how the shifter returns to a center position right away when not in gear. The throws about about 2 miles shorter than on her car. The power is so amazing at idle that you really don't have to gas it to creep up medium inclines, very nice. You also don't have to shift near as often.
The red leather interior is a MUST HAVE on any car you can get it in. It is absolutely amazing!
I haven't found an interior trunk release, but I haven't looked that hard. The only items inside the center armrest is some coin holders and a power point. The underside of the armrest has a metal attachment to hold your cell phone or something, kinda neat. That way not everything has to be dumped in there.
The sound of the car is amazing, the look is so much more meaner in person. I mean the hood looks plain in the pics, but the bulge in it in person is just amazing. I wasn't impressed with the engine cover, or lack thereof. I would suggest getting one if you are going to be popping the hood much.
Passing is 5th gear is kinda slow, and I'm not sure if it was like that on old mustangs, but if you want to punch it you have to drop it into fourth.... but you will FLY. I was at 85 mph in no time from 65. And I think this car can handle being dropped into third for that? I'm not sure and I am a total stick newb (old car was an auto).
Am I the youngest so far with one? 22 years old and all in my name!
Thanks guys, I will post pics up as soon as I get them (at work now).
Oh, and this car drives like its on RAILS. I thought ppl were exaggerating when they said that.... nope not one bit. Amazing!

Yeah the manual is a helluva lot of fun. The red interior is amazing. I'm sure it 'matches' torch red better, but it looks great on the redfire. I wouldn't change it for nothing.
I mean, the default advertising car -- from what I can tell -- is my exact model. All the original press pics were redfire with IUP, upgraded wheels, and red leather.
Love it!

Steven congrats to you!! Did you preorder? If so when? Which sound system did you get? Was the deal below MSRP?
Sorry for all the questions. Inquiring minds just have to know! Looking forward to you pics. Be sure to get one of yourself next to the car.

No mods to be honest. If anything maybe a KN filter or something. I'm coming from a 98 VW Golf, this thing has plenty of power.
I got a good deal on the car, price was fair, but i didn't preorder. I ordered what the lot was already going to get as part of their alotment. I got shaker 500, which is loud enough to hurt your ears - trust me. The bass is there, but not booming, but you will be satisfied.

Congrats Oatmeal! Can you please give us some more details on how your car handles? And also some more pics!
I haven't had a chance to test drive the GT yet. The local dealership got some GT Autos in, but I'm going to wait for the manual so that I can test drive it........

Real nice! Exactly what I'm planning to buy, except I'll stick with the bullit and probably buy aftermarket rims. Not a huge fan of the concept wheels but some said they look better in person than on the pics! Congrats for your new ride Oatmeal!

Just some additional comments to cover some questions in the thread:
The handling is superb. Every part of town where my old car would show body roll and uneasiness, this car just grabs firm and whips me around without much fuss at all. I was driving to work this afternoon and there was debris on the road. I drove straight for it and whipped my car around it like it was a cone. Handled beautifully. Completely confident.
The premium rims do look a lot better in person. The look bigger in person too, seems to fit the wheel well nicely. I wonder how they look spinning? Too bad I'm busy driving mine! Maybe when these tires where down I will consider upgrading rims. Just to dinstinguish it from other stangs.
Also, what is this talk of centercaps? I don't think this car has any caps to be put on it. Am I mistaken?
