Whichever one looks better sitting on the floor in the back, because that's where most of them end up. Few club owners actually use them. And honestly, I think the draw more attention to your car. It tells a thief you're worried about them stealing your car. They figure you have stuff worth stealing, and take it as a challenge, as well.

I came across a video of a 10 year old picking the "auto lock" in like 5 seconds... I bet its on youtube still.
And the Club... It attaches to a rather weak piece of metal in your car, the steering wheel.
Either way, both devices are probably useless. But I do not speak from experience.

The club can be removed in under 10 seconds by cutting throught the steering wheel with a hacksaw. Other than drawing attention it is not going to stop someone that wants to steal the car.

The Auto-Lock is also useless for automatics because enough pressure can be applied to overcome the brake-shift interlock, or the thief can disable that interlock solenoid. For manuals, it may present a problem for the thief when trying to shift but they could just shift into neutral and push it out to the flatbed.

Either will deter a casual thief. But neither will stop a pro. IMO, you're better off with a good electronic alarm, or some sort of kill switch. A garage with a pit bull would also work.

I'm thinking it'll deter the casual thief thats just out to steal it for some quick $...I don't figure anyone pro is going to be trying to steal a 3 year old V-6. I got the Chrome Autolock and hope it'll do the trick.

I use a club. My thinking is that it could stop kids from tearing up my car trying to steal it for a joyride only to find they can't. It won't stop a car thief, only hope there is a good alarm and lojack to find it if is stolen.

if that dont work, best free advice Ive heard is pull into park, turn the wheels- a lot of thefts these days are repo type trucks that back up, lift the rear and drive away towing the car without ever getting out of the towtruck- turning the wheels mens *if* they get it out they will need to dolly it or rehitch from the front (and get it in neutral)...simply cutting the wheel makes 'easier prey elsewhere in the lot'...
sounded logical to me. the guy that posted it had his saleen stolen at a mall lot by one of the quicktow trucks.

- I use a MasterLock 4-hook steering wheel lock. Fits perfectly over the spokes, no play.
- I also turn the wheels.
- If it's side by side parking, I also nose it in.
This does help to deter the quick-tow.
It won't stop a pro but every little bit helps.

You don't even need to hacksaw the steering wheel to get The Club off. A simple kick or two will deform the steering wheel enough to remove The Club.
Don't waste your money on The Club. A car thief will get your car if they want it. Just get good insurance (and don't forget the GAP insurance as well.) and DON'T store valuables in the car.

Get the club AND the cap, a metal cover that goes over your steering wheel that is impossible to cut.
Nevermind looks like they don't make them anymore and too bad I threw mine away!
