stock01gt is right. I've been sitting here laughing at the TV news reports about the high price of gasoline. They are interviewing all these "regular" people in front of gas pumps. One after another is saying that they are going to get a new car that gets better gas mileage. So they're going to spend $20,000 or more for a new car so they can save $750 a year in gasoline cost.

Depreciation is the biggest cost factor in owning a new vehicle not the cost of gasoline.

Sometimes things only come along once and you better grab them... You can always wait on the truck as you have one....I sold my pu a few months ago and bought a little corolla to get me back and forth...Saved me a ton of money but now I can't haul anything...Was it worth it, yep... I can always rent a truck or borrow one if I need it that badly. Bottomline, get what makes your day.

Trade in the truck and the car on a new truck for her. You buy a new mustang. That way you both have new wheels . you pay for yours, she pays for hers.

I bought a new Jeep last year. I convinced my wife I needed it to haul stuff around because we moved out into the country and I needed a 4x4 because of the amount of snow we get. Well, 1 year later, I ordered a stang and I am selling the Jeep. Sure she talked my ear off about "why" I "needed" the Jeep, but I put it this way. I know 4 relatives that have trucks so I can borrow one if I need it. If there is too much snow to drive the mustang through I will tell my boss that I am snowed in and if he wants to pick me up more power to him.

Snakeeyes....I don't come up with words of wisdom that often, but I think I can help you out here. Just show up with a new 05. Remember, it's much easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

Good Luck!

Give her the taurus, buy an older "beater" p/u and sell her truck. Pay off your taurus with the money you gain from the truck. Save car payments for next 6mo-1yr. Buy '05 Mustang in spring. Simple.
That's an excellent idea. I love my beater pickup, and still got my stangs.

Alright guys, ease up on the teasing about dumping the wife, its not going to happen..........i'll be the first to say it to you............u r in a terrible situation here..........these are your options:

1.) Forget what the wife says, get the mustang.....you will have to hear her nag for the next couple of years aout what a terrible choice you made. she'll complain every time she sits in the mustang!!! :bang: enough to commit suicide.

2.) get the truck she wants......and drool at all the mustangs on the road, yes it'll be painful.....for a little while.....then when a SE comes out in a couple of years........get one!!! it'll be better than a GT. Then you can come back here and tell all how awesome the car is...............and we will drool. AND, the best part, your wife will NOT be naggin at you!

3.) sell your house, buy the truck AND mustang, live in them.

Is this a serious topic at ALL, lol? What's with some people and their family problems due to a lousy car, Mustang or not. Ditch the car or truck and save the family. Not obvious by any means, I guess.
