Absolutely no problem doing a burnout. 1st gear lays about a 5 ft mark, 2nd leaves at least a 40 ft mark and then third leaves a 2 ft mark. Got my winter tires on now so no burnouts for me until I put my summer tires back on in April....sorry

Remember, Ford pays the warranty claims. Burnouts can (potentially) increase the frequency of warranty claims/arguments about abuse with customers. I can understand Ford trying to eliminate/cut down on this particular behavior. Since the technology is there for them to do it, and they'll save tons of $ on warranty claims, if I was an exec at Ford, I'd have probably made the same decision.

you are kidding, right? 
It's easy as:
1. push the TCS button so it lights up OFF
2. take the RPM up to about 4K
3. drop the clutch, and hear/smell/watch your expensive P-Zeros go up in smoke. Be ready to shift though, cause you'll be bouncing off the rev limiter in 2 or 3 seconds.
of course, if my service manager reads this, you gotta understand that I only heard about this through a friend

Whew, that's good news! My buddies always made fun of me because I wasn't tall enough to do a good burnout on my 1200 Sportster. I told them I had the '05 on order and they said: "Good, maybe you can do a burnout in that."

Yes that is great news! Rest assured, I will be going through those Pirelli's like they are going out of style

Ok, to start off since I see you have a manual transmission....its all the more fun to bo burnouts! Here is the quick and dirty way to light em up:
1. Make sure there are no cops around. (Trust me I know)
2. Turn off the Traction Control.
3. Put the tranny in 1st gear and push and hold in the clutch.
4. Give it plenty of throttle. Rev it at least over 3500rpms.
5. Let your foot off the clutch very fast.
6. Listen for those Pirelli's to start screaming and watch for the nice white smoke.
7. Keep your foot hammered on the gas full throttle.
8. Enjoy. You can ride it out and smack second, third gear if you want.
Also, for optimum smoke and rubber anihilation....once you let off the clutch and the tires start to spin, immediately put your left foot on the brake and slam it down like you are about to hit a deer. Keep your foot on the gas the whole time, and you will just sit there still and spin the tires and put on one helluva show!
Hope this helps man. Pretty soon you'll be doing donuts, powerslides and you will be one of us!!

Because one good burnout will get you busted for:
unsafe start
wreckless driving
left of center (i guess i got that one because my car was in the midst of a donut)
disregarding a stop sign
Trust me, I know this....haha. You could do Wal-Mart....just watch out for the heat. They are out to get me!
My nieghbors already know that I am a crazy nut, so when I get the urge to do a nice firebreather, they come out just to watch! I dont think they would kick me in the crotch though....they are scared of me!

In my '86 (4.10's) I throw it in 2nd, apply throttle so the revvs are on the way up, drop the clutch and hit the brakes just enough that the car remains stationary. If I'm feeling particularly abusive I'll wait a few seconds burning the tires then shift to 3rd fast, put it to the boards and let off the brakes.
Very, very, very long and black stripes and lots of rubber dust doing this.
I can also just apply brakes and throttle while rolling in 2nd to do rolling burnouts.
Been drivin' her like a maniac since 1998!!
As far as doing damage to the car, I would be worried about stuff like engine and suspension mount points more than anything. It does put a load on the engine, but the clutch doesn't feel it unless you're doing a "LS1 clutch burnout." Once the tires are burning I suspect that loads on components drop down below those seen during aggressive launches; it's just that initial shock of breaking the tires loose that's rough on things.
They're only 235's after all!

heh... if you did get busted for burnin your tires- just tell the cop you're learning how to drive a stick... hahahah- you haven't quite got the gas/clutch just right yet..... this works especially if you're a lady.... hahahah
