I was looking at my Odometer (no IUP) and I noticed that only 5 major digits are showing. Did ford switch back to a 99999 mile odometer? They did this in 79-93 and then realized that people drive the car for more than that, and 94+ is 6 digits. I wonder if the last digit just doesn't show up until you use it?

Does anyone know what the deal with that is?

I've noticed that too. My guess is that another digit will show up when you reach 100K.

The car self destructs at 99,999 miles so you will need to buy another Mustang.

What's funny is now that all the odometers are digital, it would be so easy to program something like that to happen at certain mileages. No way to do it with a gear driven one

I wonder, at 100K does it just quit keeping track of the tenths of a mile?

im pretty sure once you reach 100k it drops off the tenths like someone said before

and i guess they figure if you need the tenths to track something you can use the one you can clear out
