Oak-land Lincoln recreating HERTZ

Jason, the only GT350S? In Boulder there is a Shelby American museum where I have seen a GT350S or they called it a GT350SC, but it was all origional and had a Paxton on it... it was red so I know it wasn't the one you have in that picture. It was a '66, I believe.. unless they made any SCs in '67... I'm trying to remember the back end, but I was so impressed with the Paxton from back in the day that I don't remember all the details.

m'kuy... so the other Shelbys with super chargers on them, were they ever marked GT-350SC? I know for sure that it was marked as supercharged on the rocker panels. So, I guess if no others were marked as stink, then the dude lied to me, or customized that part.

I believe the green '66 was the only one with an 'S' in the rocker stripe. It was a test unit that made it out to the public. I have an old issue of Mustang and Fords that had the car painted wimbledon white with the blue lemans stripes. It also had enlarged rear-wheel openings.
I don't think there were any Shelby's that had 'SC' in the rocker stripe.

Steve, you're right about that - a few were returned with plain-jane 289's under the hood. Holes drilled in the floorpans for bolt-in roll bars, etc.
No wonder Hertz said "enough!" after one year.

The guys over at Oak-land lincoln in Oakville where I bought my GT are building one of their stock black GT's into a HERTZ lookalike. So far the stripes are on, with the rest of the gear being fabricated Looks sweet! I'll post pics tonight.
