Will a ecm out of a automatic work in a manual car

 

With an 'automatic' computer, the automatic transmission is expected to talk to the engine, if you will, to let it all work together, and if the computer doesn't see the transmission, it's going to throw codes like no tomorrow and not run right. You'll never pass inspection again.

It's not that it wouldn't run the engine... it likely will run, sure, but...

Get the correct computer for the car, and avoid problems.

If you do get an ecm from an automatic you'll have to get it flashed. If you have a handheld tuner and lets say "Tunes for Life" from Bama I'm sure they could give you a tune what will work with a manual transmission.
