Unhappy O/R Prochamber HELP! Crazy drone

Hi, I have just installed the or prochamber and I have the mac axlebacks. I was very excited about this install but man is it a big difference! It can sound good but the drone is very intense. I have resonators installed to help with trumpet and make it a little quieter but that didn't seem to do much good. You guys have any opinions on what I could do? Get cats installed? Thank you.

Mac and borla s seem to be the drone mufflers when coupled with something other than stock cats. Maybe try a different muffler..

Hey Violator187,
I had an 07. I put gibson mufflers (chambered style axleback like your mac's) on it. When I put the O/R Prochamber on it was incredibly loud and deep but the drone was terrible. Cold starting the thing would wake the dead. I immediately took off the gibson's and ran stock mufflers. Wasn't really that loud, but sounded really good. Check out my video below for an idea of stock muffs and o/r prochamber.

That wasn't enough though, so I ended up with Borla Stingers. I don't have any videos with them unfortunately. But this by far was the best sounding combo in my opinion. It did drone a bit but not even close to what was coming out of the gibsons. It was very livable if you ask me.

Wow, hmmmm.... man! Well you'd think that MAC mufflers would go perfect with MAC prochamber!! LOL I mean come on Mac! Just fustrating. Luckily I gotta great deal for the mac axlebacks on mustangforums. Just might have to check out some good deals on the borlas. So the Macs are a different style than the stingers?? Thanks for your input tho!

Yeah, the borlas are a 'straight through' style muffler meaning you can see daylight through it if you held up the muffler. Flowmasters, macs, gibsons are all chambered.

you are gonna get drone with most chambered mufflers. if you dont want drone go with straight through mufflers like magnaflow.

If you want little to no drone go with GTAs, Maganflow (not magnapacks), corsa, MBPR, or JBA. I ran magnapacks with a prochamber and hi-flows and that set-up droned.
