I ordered on 9/21 and have nothing, no VIN, no build date, not a thing. Given the order date, is that unusual? Shouldn't have i have gotten something? I know about the delay for the IUP, but other people on here ordered later than me and have either info or thier car!!!!! What gives?!?!?! What should I do

Call your dealer and tell them you want your DORA. They should be able to provide one. If they can't, tell them your walkin to another dealer.

Just ask your dealer what their allocation is, when it is and what week yours will be pulled. This is all information they should be able to provide.

I would defintely call the dealer to see what's up. I ordered my GT on 10/8 and didn't hear anything from them for over a month. Then I called on 11/8 and all they could give me was the VIN so I took that and called Ford Customer Care and found out that my car was in the process of being built and had a delivery date of 11/26. Then on 11/16 I got a call from my dealer saying that my car was in so after doing this for a while, I am going to pick it up today so I can drive around and do this .

I have my DORA, I've had that since a few days after my order was placed. But I should've gotten the VIN and Build date. Does anyone else have this problem?

When does your dealer have available allocation to get your car scheduled? If they have no allocation left it could be weeks or months til you get a VIN and build date. When did they say you order would be pulled?

What's a DORA? I ordered mine on 11/5 - my dealer told me 4 to 6 weeks. I called him yesterday & he had nothing . Said that he should have some information for me by the end of the week. :bang: He still claims that I'll have it before Christmas... I'm trying to be optimistic, but...

Get involved with the dealer. They have more control than you think. I learned the hard way. My order didn't get picked up for 120 days.

1. Allocation - if they don't have one your car will never get picked up.
2. Priority - won't get picked up if your car has a higher number than his other orders.
3. Commodities - parts/options that are available but in short supply. Dealer gets a list that shows the probability of a car getting built with certain equipment - either live with it or change the order.

A small dealer will have a better chance of knowing than a big dealer. How many would they have to keep track of if they're that small? They should know there allocation, every dealer should.

Defintally get involved with the dealer. After I placed my order, I went back a month later to find out there was no DORA. So I complained and said I would be leaving if they couldn't get my car by the end of december. The dealer then pulled some strings, now I have a DORA a build date and a vin.

If you ordered 11/5. There's a *real* good chance you won't get the car before Christmas. Don't mean to burst your bubble. Although several people have gotten their's in 6 weeks, the average time for people ordering since Sep. seems to be 8-10 weeks. The holidays will slow things down a little.

What determines the dealers allocation?

I got loan approval outside of Ford Credit & the letter is good for 30 days - then I have to renew. The dealer is saying that once they get the VIN # I can come in & close even though they might not have the vehicle. I ordered a S.Silver GT / Premium/Manual/Fully loaded minus red seats. What do you guys think?? I've driven by a couple lots. A whole lot of v6's out there - a couple GT's none in silver ??? :notnice:

I would say there was a problem Jorge. I also ordered from a small dealership just outside of Phoenix to save on taxes. I had a VIN number within 7 days of ordering my car (Ordered around 10/15)...
