NOT paying oversticker!

I don't think the Mustang is the Flavor of the month that the PT Cruiser or Mini was. Also the Mustang buyers are real car people, they are not buying it just because it's cute. We all know Ford is going to build several 100,000 per year. Plus I think the novelty of paying thousands over sticker is no longer a status symbol LOL. Remember when people bragged about how much they spent on their PT?
If your dealer is asking for +++ sticker tell him/her to take a hike!

I agree
Why pay a mark-up on a car that will depreciate considerably in only one year, that is not smart (quite frankly buying any new car is a poor investment
). I have seen a 3 thousand dollar mark-up on a V-6 26,000 and some change. I wonder what it could sell for as a V-6 a year later. we all know that our stangs just do not maintain a strong resale value.

This supply and demand thing that dealers use to drive prices up will only work if you pay it. I for one will wait if no dealer will gives me Xplan. Now I live in Hawaii and have only 3 dealers here, which is a plus for them. But I have the knowledge that I've learned from this super site! Remember it will only work if you pay it. Be smart and take notes from all. I've learned alot in these past months, just reading these post, still more to learn! Thanks all! Happy Trails!

Luckily, the car did have very high residual value (Don't ask me why), and I was able to trade without losing my shirt (despite trading in a 00' Sentra for it-and being upside down). I'm not concerned in the least about having one in 100,000 05's stangs. I bought the car because I LOVE the new design. I have only owned two previous mustangs, both were 66's that I partially restored. I wished I still had one of them.
Although I ended up with a V-6 w/out IUP, I still love the car and plan to keep it. I continue to receive emails from dealers that I contcated originally concerning the car. It's outrageous reading how they are offering "opportunities" to purchase cancelled cars at $2,000 Markup! (Nashville).
For any that live near Nashville, 103.3 FM (Country) is giving away two mustangs. They are a 65 Classic and an 05'. You have to qualify by identifying a sound from one of the two cars.

I wouldn't pay $500.00 below sticker. Wait a few months and you'll get that price you're looking for. I don't want to pay no more than $500.00 over invoice. When I can pay that much for it....then I'll consider purchasing one.
