Not in that way. You can take the rebate as a check to you, the customer, but then can't apply it towards the car. When you use the rebate, it goes to the dealer. For example, if you buy a car at X-Plan, which is a smidge below invoice, and take the rebate, the customer signs over the rebate, so the dealer can sell it $1,000 under X-Plan without losing $1,000 on the deal.
If you want the rebate as a check, you can do this too, but then you can't use it towards the car.

I don't see how you figure that. Have you played with the Payment Estimator on the Ford site? I don't get the same result. I see that the difference in one percentage point is about $780 over the five years. Do you know what interest you can get at a bank or CU?
Not to be nosey, but are you financing the entire $30,000 for five years?
One of the problems with taking the financing is that if you ever want to pay it off early, you lose the savings of a lower interest rate.
I'm not an economist or an accountant...just an old guy who gives too much advice. YMMV.
In any event, good luck and congrats on the car!

Using X-Plan, they do not charge for the Destination and Delivery of $745 or any other charges for that matter, correct? The only charge under X-Plan is the car cost itself NOT including the $2,640 in rebates on the GT Auto.
Say invoice (close to X-Plan) is:
$ 27,100
- 745 D&D
$ 26,355
-2,640 Rebates (until 04/02/07)
$23,715 Net
+ TT&L correct?
I would go for the 60 or 72 month loan from FORD is the financing is a better deal. I was going to order the car but I won't be able to take advantage of the current Rebates.
Thanks

You also have to add in the fuel charge.
I found Forddirect's website to give the closest estimate to the amount I have to pay.

1) $1,000 rebate, plus $645 rebate
2) $1,000 rebate, plus $995 rebate
3) $645 rebate, or 4.9% APR
4) $995 rebate, or 4.9% APR
As of 3/23 at 3:20 pm (EST) You CANNOT combine all 3 rebates as one!!! FORD WILL NOT LET YOU! This isn't to say, they will change tomorrow. Personally, I think the $645 is going away, and the $995 takes its place. Again, GT, don't mean to be a downer, but I just wanted to get the facts out there! When I get more info, I will post it.

Definitely keep us posted Jeff. I just had to reorder my GT so I'm going to miss the current rebates that expire 4/2 (I'm also in PA - Chester County). I'm hoping for either an extension or something better than the $1,000 for the manual GT.
