Nitto 555 not good in rain?

Just would like some opinions. I'm in socal tho, not that much rain compared to other states. but my current nt450's which i need to replace (2 of them) caused some hydroplaning i wonder if the 555 would be worse.

i dont do any drag racing or road racing but i still do like a good performing tire w/ an aggressive look :P

tia.

Tires are VERY subjective, only one way to know for sure... try em.

I for one have no problems with my NT 450's in the rain... for the first 25k miles or so, after that they lose most of their grip.

I hear lot's of people that a very happy with their NT 555's

Yeah why? Have you used them before? The reason I ask is because I am planning on installing them in the near future.

I have Nitto 555's on my Subaru and have no complaints. Good all around tire for the money.

I never have had any personal experience with the tires, I just hear that from all my buddies who are running street cars. They all say something along the lines of "they are all over the place". Of cource it is subjective though, a lot of people out there are happy with their stock p-zeros.

In the dry, they are great. Good traction, corner very well for a street tire, with predictable breakaway--easy to tell when you're reaching the limit. (I run these on the road course as well.)

In the rain, as long as I'm not driving like a jacka$$, they get me from Point A to Point B without incident or scares.
They're a summer tire, so I don't pretend to think I can drive on them like they were an A/S tire.
It doesn't rain too much out my way, though

Also I think it's worth noting that they wear exceptionally well, I've put over 12,000 miles on mine in the last year, including 4 track days, and the treads look almost brand new. This is without rotation, either--I run different sizes front/rear.

I run Nitto 555s in Louisiana, where rain is almost a daily occurence during parts of the year. As long as I keep the TC on, I don't have any problems at all.

I have the 555R Extreme Drag IIs and they are 10 times better in the rain than the stock tires were.
