Nice drive yesterday up to Mt. St Helens.
Had a fresh wash and wax, and the 'Stang was looking fine........as evidenced by all the looks I got as I was taking it through the twisties at 3,000 ft. + elev.
It was a gorgeous day, and got out at Johnston Ridge Observatory to have a great view into the throat of the mountain (used to be the North Flank). My GF was with me, and I'm not sure which she enjoyed more.........seeing Mt. St. Helens up close and personal for the 1st time, or the joy ride up Spirit Lake Hwy in the Mustang!

I lived up there for years in Mukilteo, but never did get out to Mount St. Helens. I'm down in Texas now.......

I go to mt st helens just about every summer - since the eruption..camp at Iron creek. I dont think I would be willing to take my stang up there ... TOo many tourist (door ding h ell) and way to much dust blowing around.. Every time I come back I have to change the air filter. Its still jeep country for me..But then Again I am **** about my stang....

At least Helen's gave us a little puff of ash while we were hiking the trail of Johnston ridge. Also, for the curious the Ridge sits at a whopping 4800ft. The top of the mountain is around 8500ft.
