KaptinGT says his sources tell him a California Special might be offered as an 06.

WHAT? No Pennsylvania special??? That's it, I'm writing Ford.
[/b][/quote]I was hoping for the "Canadian Special" with Moose horns and Molson stripes, eh.

The SE will be the Shelby GT500KR and it'll have a supercharged version of the upcoming 6.2 Hurricane.

I've heard there will be a Mach 1 and a Bullitt, don't know when though..
As I have posted before, I would like to hear some info from Ford on this SE. I feel like they have left me out in the cold!!
I love the GT, but I am not too high on the 17 inch wheels. If 18's are an option on the 06, I might buy another GT. But, I really want something special this time, and a SE would be the car!
If I have to wait till 07 for a SE, I might as well keep saving my money, and buy a Cobra!! But, the way things are shaping up, I will end up with another GT.
Ford would be wise to release a SE, before the Cobra is released - 2006!!

There's no doubt in my mind there will be a SE with more HP over the GT by the time Cobra shows up. You can't have a 300 HP GT and a 4XX+ HP Cobra without something in between. With Camaro coming in 2007/2008, Ford will put something out there to compete. While not always the case in the past, I think Ford will do it this time. Look for a SE or standard package (ala Mach1) six months before the Cobra.
Well I hope they come out with something that has performance tires and wheels. The current ones look terrible. Atleast before they were putting something that didnt look like it belonged on a ranger. I will just wait it out and see what they come out with instead of jumping on it like I did on my 00gt. I was just wondering if anyone had any confirmed news on what ford was looking to come out with.

Also with 400 rated hp on the LS2 GTO and its current base price... well danged if that doesen't already sound like cobra territory to me.

"Ford blow their wad"
You're too much VB.First, Ford will likely position an SE to compete with the 400hp GTO and C6, not the Cobra. I believe the Cobra will be going after the Vette (Z06).
Ford said the Cobra was moving more upscale to also compete with the new M3.
Not sure if I will be able to hold out for a SE but I could move to Canada. Someone on another forum said their friend ordered a SE one of only 400 to be ship to Canada.
I'm guessing that its a dealer thing.
