do i just connect the new wiring harnes in place of the one from stock. do i have to worry about any warning lights coming up. check engine etc. ALSO, DOES THE BATTERY NEED TO BE DISCONNECTED?

Try asking / searching in the interior section. Battery is a good idea for any electrical mx. Shouldn't get a check eng light, but you'll have to work around the backlighting. You'll lose the speed adj volume feature too, but no biggie. I would check Crutchfield to see if you will need an adapter harness.

Best advice is to ask or look around the interior forum. I haven't swapped a radio, but others have....
