I've been saying it all along: body colored mirrors make all the difference. It looks awesome, man.

I assume that one can reattach the mirrors so that they're just as secure as they were before - and without screwing up the power function...? Generally I hate doing mods to stuff like that or to the interior, cause it's always where squeaks and rattles seem to develop years down the road. Sort of like when you break a bone...that's always where the Arthritis sets in later.
It snugs right back into it's original position. There is a pretty thick blanket or piece of foam weather stripping material that seals up the backside of the mirror. As far as the wiring, it's a simple harness or plug. The only thing you could do wrong with that is pull it apart without depressing the plastic retainer. The backside of the mirror, interior, the cover just snaps in place. It almost comes off too easily. It's actually just tight enough for it to not be a long term falling off issue. Other than that, CAKE.

i dont like the botom grille painted body color, it looks plain nasty
I have to say it doesn't look right because the moron painted the grate looking plastic that I wanted to remain black. He said he couldn't get it taped off properly, when in reality, he didn't want to take the time to tape it off properly. I have another one on order ($38) which I will tape off myself and have him paint it correctly. I think it will look much better then.

By the way, I can't figure out how to post with mulitple quotes from different posts. I've looked, but can't figure it out.

you can't. the only option you have is to manually copy-and-paste text from other posts and then put quote-tags around it

The painted mirrors look awesome! It's one of the only things I wish Ford would have done differently to it.

Amen to all the praise above! I take it there was no problem getting your paint? Seems like you were able to make this all happen pretty quickly.

I'll say what's already been said, the painted mirrors look great!

Thanks for the heads up on how to disassemble the mirrors. Definately a mod I might have to consider.

No problem at all getting paint. Above, I mentioned that I ordered another lower grill and was going to tape it off myself. Today, I stopped by and he said he had some paint left over so when I get the new lower grill, he would paint it up-no charge. He also saw a very slight paint run on the bottom of the mirror and told me to bring it back when I get the grill and he'll have them wet sand it out. I thought that was pretty cool. Not bad for $100.

Thanks for all the great responses!

Whom did you speak to over at Al Packer West? The body shop manager? I cannot remember his name. He did some touch-up work for me before.
