A new one...

So I had the girl out for lunch today, and on the way to the restaurant I pass a speed trap setup for traffic going the other direction. Now, I know I've got to come back this way, so when I get there, I'm spot on the limit. Much to my surprise, I get the signal anyway. "What have I done", I wonder to no one in particular. So I pull over, roll down the window and begin to get out my papers. The officer starts around back, slowly comes up to the window and says....

"Do you know why I pulled you over today?"

"I'm afraid I don't", says I, remembering that I don't have a front plate and trying to look innocent.

"I don't have a ticket for you. I just wanted a closer look at your ride."

The cop should have given you his card, to help you get out of any trouble down the road to compensate for the nerves of being pulled over.

I would've asked if it'd be okay to show him how you can make pretty smoke come off the tires.

We were pulled over coming home from the bar once (g/f DD of course) and went thru a safety check. The cop really didn't check anything out, he just stared at the car for 2 minutes, told us nice ride and have a good night. Cops love Mustangs, as long as you're not being an a$$

I had a similar experience many years ago - driving my '69 Mach 1...

I sure miss that car.

as cool and kind of a compliment it is for that. i hope i never have that happen. that is a HUGE waste of my time if a cop did that. i have had both good experiences and bad experiences with cops and one like that would aggrivate me. the least he could have done is given you his card or something. so although it is kinda nice that one would compliment your car, i am a bigger fan of a thumbs up when he passes you or something.
