Hello everyone...got some new pics for ya...not as great as amy's but i did get some info to go along with my pics. I spoke with an engineer from ford motor company who seemed very knowledgeable. He said the following

1) The 18's WILL be available as a first release in 2006 along with the BFG tires. He said the parellis (sp?) hook up amazing and have ablsolutely no problems handling the power.

2) When asked about horsepower he said enthusiastically that this car had *****. He said i would be very happy with it, and that the only downside is that he had an auto and not a stick. He said he keeps on hearing 315 for horsepower but stressed more importantly that NONE of the horsepower rumors are true until the final calibrations are made...and that has not been done yet.

Note: This may be a good thing @ 315. Maybe its a little down-tuned and therefore will handle more mods. Hopefully its nothing like the WRX Sti where the engine is maxed out and has been known to crack blocks.

3) 06 & 1/2 COBRA NEWS He said its for sure a 5.4 supercharged pushing 450 hp. But again that can change due to calibration.

4) Intake covers have been taken out due to cost reduction.

Thats about it. heres some pics.

Note: hood is Not out of alignment. It was in the unlatched position prior to the picture.

Thanks for the information and great photos, especially the one of the dark charcoal interior with cloth pony-covered seats. I am not surprised about "cost reduction" as one of the reasons for the engine cover to be left off the car.

After reading this article, I was planning on writing Terry a nice letter with suggestions on a name for the motor... Now all that come to mind is "DEAD SPYDER"

great pictures, thanks...the deletion of the engine cover is EXACTLY what i have been saying about cost: ford considers it more important to keep the bottom line as low as possible and ANYTHING they can do without compromising performance or quality is just what is needed.

anybody who doesn't like the lines of the 05 should take a look at the original or the 67-68 versions: they're classic...clean,uncluttered and timeless...don't change a thing!! jackg 90seville 94k

I can understand, they tease us with it then take it away, but in a way that is good. the aftermarket get's the jump on things we want, and Ford has one less thing to delay our car's. eace: :usa:

This is true! I want to pay as little as possible for the car and add mods like covers, etc later. CHILL
